The Bond Store

The Bond Store was a cafe serving brunch meals hidden in a Southbank alleyway. Their foods were pretty good; we ordered the three cheese toasted sandwich and tonkotsu pork burger; both were fresh and delicious, and generous in serving size. Coffee was pretty decent also, and service was friendly. The ambiance, however, was unfortunately quite poor; it was dark despite being a sunny day, the decor felt old and run down, and mosquitoes were everywhere. It could have been a completely nice brunch experience.

We've been twice this year, in January when our coffee orders were taken but no food orders, and in case the this was an exception visited again this morning. I've had good service and food prior and so conclude poor service is due to poor resourcing and when it's busy, I would recommend you walk on. The first coffee was delivered after 25 minutes this morning and 2nd around the 45 minute mark. Consistently, food arrived just as scattered after a further wait... lunch was a nice breakfast! The staff are friendly and it's a nice environment, however I just wish they would warn of significant delays, batch table orders and/or reduce seating to match capacity.

I had high expectations for this as others had recommended it to us, but it fell very short. We had to order coffee 3 times before it was actually served. Wait staff were rude, had no customer service skills or table manners. My food was OK, not terrible or amazing, just ok. I won't be returning. The biggest thing to improve would be the attitude and service of your staff.
