Ordered the hazelnut praline crunch, and it’s simply divine! Not too sweet and it’s just lovely. Also bought the death by chocolate pastry and it’s really not that nice as the pastry is hard. So probably would only recommend their cakes as they look gorgeous and taste good too. Place is clean and spacious, has a great feel to it.

The cake was okay. The tea was fairly diluted. This place is just average. But the thing we felt disgusted was the cafe’s cleanliness and hygiene. Maybe they were short on staff. Floor was covered with dust. Especially, the glasses were not properly cleaned. There were stains around them including lipstick stains.

On the way to South Melbourne Markets and @BibelotSouthMelbourne caught my eye. An array of sweet treats from gelato, a cafe, desserts and hand made chocolates. AMAZING! Honestly I wish I could rate 100000 stars. By far the best fine deserts I’ve had in Melbourne. Perfectly done and not overly sweet. Me and my family love this place now and will be coming back every week as a regular customer that’s for sure. Customer service was outstanding too. Thank you so much! Well done.

Once a local and consistent fan of Bibelot, I have decided to stay away for now and go into the CBD for cakes instead. The cake standard has dropped with visible differences to taste profile and overall aesthetic. More disturbingly, the warmth and personable service is gone. The new owners should really enforce warmth and approachable staff when hiring. It makes a difference to what used to be such a premium brand.
