The Limerick Arms

Was pleasantly surprised with the good food. Reasonable considering serving size. 💓 The slow cooked lamb chops was $15 for 5 sticks which is great value. ☺️ The calamari was also yuuuum! Of course, parma, you cannot get this wrong, right? So, if you’re in South Melb, give it a go. P.S the service was also great. 😊

There is good pub food and there is OK pub food. The Limerick Arms Hotel on a Friday night is a busy place. COVID protocols were in place with check in at the door and bar staff asking every time you ordered a drink whether you’d checked in. As a family of 5 we ordered a number of Limerick Parma’s, Porterhouse Steak and the Trevalley. Big serves but unfortunately quantity won out over quality. The chicken Parma was a 3 out of 5. The Porterhouse Steak was well done when medium was the order - 3 stars. The Trevalley however was a real let down. How do you say this delicately - it just wasn’t fresh. That’s unforgivable. Accompanied by chips and limp salad. Presentation of all dishes was ho hum. Be aware also this place is loud. So loud we had to shout at each other to be heard across the table. Overall 3 out of 5.

Staff and Service are a 10/10! Venue 10/10 List of drinks also fantastic. However, the food is very middling by pub standards. Salads were salty and I requested a medium rare steak and it was well done and a bit burnt? I wouldn't be advertising that I was a steak house if the steaks are going to be quality that I had. The Parma was significantly better though! Go for the ambience, drinks and the parma!

What a comfy pub. We had a late lunch here on a Wednesday in early January, I think it was about 3pm and they had no problems serving us meals at that time of day. Really good pub food. Great beer selections. Happy, friendly staff. My partner was happy because they had the cricket on their screens ;)
