Prince's Pies

Has to be the best sausage roll ever. Seriously, ever. The filling is fluffy and light but extremely tasty and hearty. Some sausage roll pastry leaves a greasy coating in your mouth... but never here... the pastry is always magnificent and you can tell made with the right stuff. I'm serious. It's the best sausage roll. Ever.

Sorry! I really wanted to like these pies. Pork sausage rolls really not good - weirdly bland, undercooked appearance - meat tasted boiled inside and the bottom of the pastry was raw and soggy so it fell apart first bite. The chunky beef and veg pie has a tomato based gravy but also lacked seasoning. Not what I want from a pie personally, $8 each and I would rather a $3 pie from the servo. Staff nice though.

Heard about the great pies here, thought I’d make the trip to try one of their beef pies. Arrived at 12pm, it was not busy, was told no beef pies available, so I ordered a butter chicken and sausage roll. Asked if I could use the toilet, they don’t have one. Immediately assumed I was taking away, agreed to takeaway because I didn’t feel welcomed there. Guy seemed in a real foul mood. I didn’t get the beef pie I wanted, but was surprised the butter chicken was actually better than I expected. Low stars for bad service, not having half their menu available and no toilet for customers, especially when they have seating inside and out, surely you have a toilet for customers! Last time I come here.

Very similar to the last two comments. Extremely disappointing experience. The service was appalling from the start. The guy was rude and seemed to not care at all about service. Seemed very bitter. Ordered some pies, had to wait 20 mins to cook them because there were none ready. We went away, came back and he had clearly given us the wrong pies. We ordered the steak, pepper and cheese. There was no pepper, no cheese, and cleary tasted like the bolognaise pies we didn’t want. When I asked the guy about it, he was extremely rude, stone faced, and generally careless. He even said that lots of customers had given him the same feedback. Never again.

It would be nice if they sold a "Normal" meat pie, or even just a Curry Pie, but apparently in Brunswick East that is not fancy enough. The chunky beef pie I tried was sloppy and fell apart when held in my hands (big fail for a decent meat pie, would be a disaster at the footy). The meat was chunky but pretty tasteless (a cheap cut I fear) which is why they flavoured it with something that I can't put my finger on (possibly cheap wine). Not that impressed really. The quest for the perfect pie continues
