I was quite excited to hear that Debenhams was opening its first store in Melbourne. I thoroughly enjoyed shopping there with the wife during our last trip to the UK. I can't say we were impressed with our experience here. Certainly an odd choice to have such a well-known international UK department store open its first store in Australia inside of a BASEMENT. I am sure there are better locations in the city business district than here. I really hope this beloved UK household brand does not turn into a bargain basement.

Poor customer services from Maje at Collins lane and it has defiantly changed my view about this store and has effected my passion for this brand. They are very quick and eager to take the customers money and make it very difficult to refund or exchange items, taking away consumers rights. I will also be making a complaint to the Australia’s competition and consumer commission.

Having been a great devotee of Debenhams when residing in the UK, with attention to their women's clothing lines, handbags and scarves, I was very keen to dip my toes into the waters of the new Melbourne store. I wasn't disappointed; some of my favourite UK clothing labels were there, as well as dedicated Debenhams designs. I really like the ambience of this store, particularly the light, white decor, which is very functional for a 'basement' location. I hope that Debenhams continues to expand in Melbourne, with greater store space and stock. A good start!

They've done a really good good modernising this centre. It's now far more upscale in terms of the retail businesses operating within it. The top floor offers a few food and drink options with a number of places still due to open in the coming month or two. Retail wise, there are a number of large international luxury brands within this complex as well as a few boutique Australian businesses.

Flashy (on the surface), but looks like a way to milk the retailers for rental cash. I would have given it a 5, ...BUT it lacks the intricate detail and design charm found in The Royal Arcade and The Block Arcade. If the spent more on better design - rather than flat plane glass it shows a lost opportunity to be something. Maybe the barbed the designer? Who knows, I hope they can fix it up one day to be special.

Rude staff in Maje collins. Asian staff from Emporium Maje has a lot better customer service. I have kindly enquired Maje collins staff if I can hold one item. She said 'I can't - it's sale item.' with very unpleasant gesture and I kindly asked her even for an hour and she repeated like robot 'i can't it's sale item'. I understand the fact that they can't hold it but her facial expression and gesture were very rude. Even though she can't do it, she can say that nice way - but she made me feel bad. Then eventually i bought full price jacket from Sandro in Emporium where staff are very nice to me. It's all about customer service. Very rude staff in Maje collins on 28 June 2019 around 5:30 pm. They gave me very bad impression of this brand 'Maje'.
