It is unfortunate. That I can't give stars -5.
I ordered 2 choices of curries (1 meat 1veg)with rice. Price $22.90.
I said take the curries less sauce.
The staff charge this $28.
I asked, why charge me $28. Why charge over $6.
She show the bill and said $6 for naan.
For what !!!. I show the plate and asking where the naan $6?
When I order 2 curries with rice. You charged over the price.
After I asked her. She return $6 to me.
Cheat and bad attitude service. Terrible!

Not only do they give you terrible food, they make you pay a ridiculous price for the privilege.
I live in Clayton so I know what good Indian food tastes like, and this was absolutely TERRIBLE. The worst Indian I've had in years.
I looked around the food court and saw people eating food that actually looked delicious, and it made me totally envious.
Looking back I should've just dumped the food in the bin and bought something else but I'd already spent $30 for a simple meal and water so I felt committed.
Maybe it's okay for tourists and people who don't know the difference between this and high quality Indian food.
It actually tasted like airplane food. The rice tasted like Uncle Ben's microwave rice.
I'm not exaggerating here, the food really is awful.
Do yourself a favour, avoid this place please!

I have been to this place few times on and off over a period of more than 5 years. Unfortunately, I have to say that the experience was 'pathetic' and that was EVERY SINGLE TIME I had food here.
1. Prices - I understand that it is in a most popular building ( Casino and Cinemas ) and so have an idea of how the rates can be. But the prices here are next level. They are super expensive prices for what you get and how they taste. And the bonus is, they keep on changing. I see the pandemic made them increase the prices by 20-25%.
2. Taste - Oh my god !! what should I say here. One of the WORST tasting food I ever had in Melbourne and that was not once or twice but every single time. I should appreciate their consistency in maintaining such a poor taste of food. The last time we had was a Paneer Dosa and Cheese Rava Dosa. Paneer was like a biscuit and burnt out and cheese was inedible.
3. People in the counter - I do see many comments about them here and I do agree with most of these comments. The people in counter were un-responsive, rude, have attitude and not the interaction you would like to have in general in any other restaurant.
Would I visit this place again - Highly unlikely and wouldn't suggest to waste the money here.
This is definitely not how Indian food tastes and I do suspect that their target is not Indian customers. Feels like, Indian food but not for Indians unfortunately !!

So expensive for average food. $6 for a small bottle of Pepsi and $23 for 2 small curries and a bit of rice - you have to pay extra for naan! Definitely don’t recommend

Had horrible experience with food and to make things worst the staff has no customer service skills. Finally the owner interrupted and apologised on behalf of the staff.....stale food...pre-cooked Nan bread(possibly from the Indian grocery store). On the menu it says made from clay oven but in reality that's not the case. Feather found in biryani.....absolute waste of time and money. Good luck guys

TRAIN YOUR NEW STAFF PROPERLY. I have been coming here often for the past 4 years to grab takeaway lunch and always order 2 curries with Naan instead of rice because of dietary requirements. The 3 staff today (2nd April 4:20) refused to take the order and said I had to order rice because that is what is included in the deal. I said I will pay whatever extra, I can't have rice and other staff always allow you to swap rice for naan. They said I can only have naan instead of rice if I eat at the store and I can pack the paper plates myself as takeaway.... (what is wrong with these people?). I can understand if they ran out of naan, but there was a bread just sitting right there in the window. Nearly every restaurant gives you a choice, this is the first time I have been refused with such an unusual rule. Just got frustrated and picked up some sushi instead.
There was also multiple people waiting in front of me. All 3 of these new staff members were doing 1 order at a time together instead of serving multiple customers, slowing down the queue. 2 people packing and pouring curries for the same order and 1 person on cash register. Was the most unusual sight.
The old staff had bad attitudes as other people are complaining on here, but atleast they knew what they were doing and I always got my lunch. Luckily there are other food options nearby our new office and I am not limited to this restaurant anymore, so this will be my last visit.
