We booked Barbarossa for my wife’s 30th party- it was fantastic! The staff couldn’t do enough for us and were extremely accommodating to any request we had. The food was outstanding- a fantastic variety of pizzas and antipasti! The three lions even threw in a win on the big screen. Thank you so much once again- definitely recommend Barbarossa to anyone looking for a party venue or meal out! #itscominghome
Ordered a pizza to pick up last night, went for the Chorizo and Chilli and added Pepperoni... wow! Why has it take us so long to try this place!?
Perfect dough, extremely tasty topping - and just the right amount of it.
I won’t lie, in my 35 years it’s the best pizza I’ve had in Middlesbrough, If not the U.K. after being in the US over New Year I’ve been looking for something to rival what we had over there.... and these were better than some of them, on par with some of the best of them.
I/we will be back and if like us you’ve not checked this place out, stop waiting and get in there!
Quick friendly service small menu but second to none quality Food prepared and cooked to perfection definitely worth the visit five*****
Was the best pizza i have tasted in years found my new favourite pizza place 10/10
Having wanting to visit Barbarossa for a while, I finally got my chance when the Mrs was out of town. I’m a big fan of wood fired style pizza restaurants and visited several ones.
This one situated in the heart of Middlesbrough’s nightlife is tucked away from the swarms of drunkards.
The restaurant is open and you can watch the kitchen staff in the kitchen working around the fire. The sourdough bread is probably the best you'll taste, I’m told their bread is prepared over 7 days. I couldn’t understand the plates of bread crusts going back to the kitchen as waste. The sourdough bread really added authenticity to the pizza and incredible.
I opted for meat feast and added goats cheese, rocket, spicy Italian sausage. The pizzas held the weight of the topping, some pizzas the toppings fall off but these held. Meats great quality and didn’t leave too much grease behind. Washed down with a BrewDog lager. The food came out rapidly if not too quick.
I was eating alone but the waitress sorry I didn’t get your name but you liked after me. Which made the job of eating alone, a lot easier thank you.
There’s nothing at all wrong with this restaurant but they could benefit from more Italian style starters like arancini etc.
Good effort on the craft beers but this Italian get some Italian craft beer in there. Not the usual suspects of birra moretti, menabrea and peroni.
Had an amazing pepperoni pizza, cooked to perfection! The cheese was fantastic and the pepperoni had a nice level of spice. I ordered a dip but there was no need to use it on such a good pizza. Had a nice pint aswell to top the afternoon off!
Absolute fire!! Proper delicious, authentic, stone baked style sour dough pizzas. We went in to order without giving any notice and within about 3-4 minutes no joke, we had our food. The lady who served us was lovely and went the extra mile to make us feel welcome. Recommended everyone try it out.
Delicious pizza, every time! Lovely staff and very fair prices. Our go to pizza place!
Beautiful food and probably best pizza in Middlesbrough. Was a little disappointed with time it took to get order. Ordered online and was told a time to arrive which I came five minutes early. Then proceeded to wait at least another 20 mins. Still since the food is so good I'd probably go again.
I love this place. The staff are brilliant and the pizza's are just out of this world. Highly recommended this place.
Great pizza, nice beer and friendly service. Staff friendly and attentive. Comfortable and relaxed atmosphere to enjoy your food in. Had a great time.
Best pizza in Middlesbrough, the staff are brilliant and food is always amazing!!
