The Tipsy Cow sits on Acklam Road in Middlesbrough, one of those places that seems to be busy whenever you pass by. It's a pub and restaurant that does breakfast through to late evening, mixing British pub staples with American-style dishes and wood-fired pizzas. If you're local, you probably know them for their Parmos, that proper Teesside specialty that's hard to find done well outside the area. Their Sunday roasts get a lot of attention too, and from what regulars say, they're worth booking ahead for, especially if you need gluten-free options. They take coeliac requirements seriously, though it's best to call in advance on 01642 814114 so the kitchen can prep properly. The menu covers a fair bit of ground. You can come in for a full English at half nine in the morning or settle in for pizza and a pint later on. There's decent choice for vegetarians, and they've clearly put thought into accommodating different dietary needs. With over 1,900 reviews averaging 86 out of 100, they're doing something right, though like any busy place, experiences can vary.

We were 3 ladies at lunch. Great choice on the menu all reasonably priced. Quire busy but added to the atmosphere. Definitely go back and recommend to friends.

Great food as always from here. They have a range of food and drinks available and cater for allergies such as coeliac. I had a gluten free Sunday lunch (it is advisable to call in advance) but they made sure everything was safe and it was delicious. All my family really enjoyed their food too and they’re quite fussy.

Good selection of food but I felt prices of some things were overpriced, such as the fish and chips. The atmosphere is pleasant but so many tv's. We ordered 3 chicken parmos and a scampi. The scampi was a large portion so more expensive but when it arrived, comparing it to other establishments, it was not a large portion of scampi or chips. They were delivered to the table in a reasonable time but without cutlery which came afterwards. We could only praise the food it was very nice but when you are paying Tipsy Cow prices you expect more than a few chips in a wire basket. What's wrong with putting them on the plate? Overall I'd go again but wouldn't have it as my 1st choice. Good menu choice Nicely cooked food Some items overpriced Chip portions too small
