Lovely olde world pub, tasty homemade food and friendly service. Can't fault this place, great atmosphere, free parking, beautiful historic interiors with open fires and low exposed beam ceilings.

Lovely staff, great service, good food. The atmosphere would've been a 5, but another customer sat across from me blasting out the radio from his speaking whilst I'm trying to eat wasn't great.

Lovely place with nice food. Good selection on the menu at very reasonable prices. Some wonderful home made dishes 😋. Car parking with plenty of spaces and free once you place your details into the touch pad inside on the bar 👏🙏.

We visited on Thursday, very early evening and it was surprisingly busy. Even more so as it doesn't have a car park and the sorrounding roads were yellow lined or residential. Although we didn't eat here we did get get sight of meals on other tables and they did look good. It's my sort of pub but I am not a fan of overt advertising and the like in what is an historic pub. I feel they should make more of an effort to preserve some sense of it's history. My first pint of J D Lees ale which was well kept and went down well.

Lovely, quaint pub, very quirky inside with Olde worlde features. There's a good size outside area at the rear too. Car parking is free as long as you register the car when you go inside. The menu is extensive very reasonably priced too!! We had the homemade pies, cheese for me, absolutely lovely!!! Hubby had the steak and ale pie, he said very yummy!!! Both served with chips and mushy peas. Generous portions too😋 Very reasonable bar prices. It gets very busy in the evenings, so food service time is variable, but overall well worth it😃

Reserved a table and was greeted by the 2 friendly bar staff. The food was great! Such good value and so tasty. Reasonably priced and no room for a pudding unfortunately! Will be back definitely. Keep up the good work guys and a shout out to the kitchen staff in this weather. We'll done everyone.

Historic old pub, est. 1632. Food is very good, we had BBQ Burger, homemade cheese and onion pie and the Sunday brunch. All very tasty. The saff is very friendly and helpfull, we felt welcome to the pub for our first time visit and will definetly come back.

Nice place to eat and drink. JW Lee's pub with a real ale offering. Only 1 real ale was available when I visited although it was January and it looks like they had their winter ale on over Christmas from the posters about. It was a little chilly when we arrived as the heating had only just been put on but it soon warmed up and in fairness we were first through the door on opening! The traditional fireplaces are in fact gas and not wood or coal which is a shame but they make a nice focal point in each room. The food menu is traditional pub food, served quickly and was very tasty and reasonably priced. Worth taking your mother out for lunch!

Amazing pub with a great character and interesting history. The interior design is very impressive, with many of the olden-day elements still there, so you can really see what it used to be like. Customer service was also good, with the staff being attentive to the needs of the guests. We were very satisfied with the quality of the food as well - fresh ingredients, fair and affordable prices, and generous portions. One minor thing that could be changed is that when ordering tea, I think the water should be served in a teapot so you can decide how strong you want the tea, instead of it being brewed by the staff at the bar. Overall if you have time I would recommend visiting this pub.
