A quiet village and a traditional pub, highly recommended for a little step back in time or some decent grub. We came here to have a quick drink and a bite to eat. The food was a little bit pricy but the quality matched the price, I think it contradicted the setting in the fact that the food was almost a bit too posh and the place really called for some decent hearty grub to match its atmosphere. That being said we would recommend it and now we know what sort of food is sold here we ll be coming back whenever we want a decent meal out.

With the rain lashing down, we needed somewhere warm and welcoming. This place was absolutely perfect for our family. Food was simple yet absolutely delicious. The Ale on tap was conditioned and well looked after. Staff were really welcoming and friendly. Really nice atmosphere. Absolutely going back before our trip is over! ** Edit We did go back on Monday evening. Food and service was again absolutely spot on. Will definitely try to fit a third visit in before our holiday is over.

Beautiful setting, I can imagine that it may be a bit hairy driving around the lanes in winter. Food is excellent. The nicest blue cheese I have ever tasted! Friendly service. Good breakfast, best orange juice and coffee. Rooms are better than staying at a standard hotel, with nice design and clean and comfortable facilities. Would I return - yes, and I look forward to it.

Very welcoming and cosy pub with lovely staff. We only chose to have light bites but they were very good. I look forward to returning for a full meal!

Ended up at "this" The Who Would Have Thought It by default not knowing that there are two places in the area with the same name. I had booked a table for dinner at one and my husband had put the postcode into the sat nav for the other. When we arrived late at the wrong one there was no phone signal to ring the right place to cancel and apologise for not making the booking. However the food and hospitality were equally as enjoyable which is just as well because the narrow roads are not for the faint hearted.

Stayed for a couple of nights. The staff are absolutely fantastic. Food is superb. The rooms are what you expect in a 16th Century pub, but very clean and roomy. Had the largest room with an immense bed that was very comfortable.

Sunday lunch was very special. Big portions and tasty. This little gem is tucked away in the middle of a small village, also worth visiting and walking about . We did get here in time to Sunday lunch, and we were impressed with the staff, the service, the facilities, and specially the preservation of this old pub. It is quite big inside with secluded rooms. Good Devon beers on offer. The menu looked really interesting. At the back it had lovely tucked away hidden seats, nicely done. If you are not driving, it is a steep hill up to the main road. Cat Park at the back is extensive.

Haven't used the rooms but didn't want that to reflect in my rating for the food and pub experience. Very friendly service, clean lavatories and delicious food. Car parking is at the back. This pub is located off the beaten track in a very pretty little village. Well worth a visit in my opinion.

Nice little pub where you can sit outside and enjoy the sunshine. Only downside, the food was very expensive for what it was and not much variety.

We had a roast and the Beef was absolutely gorgeous, the whole meal itself was so tasty and flavoursome, definitely recommend others to dine there.
