Discovered this wonderful place just by driving by and doing a quick u-turn because it looked so nice! Welcomed with a warm smile and friendly waiter who gave us a choice of inside or outside tables. The menu was vast but we opted for the sharing roast dinner trio of meats with some whitebait to begin with. to say we were satisfied would be an understatement, everything was cooked just right, no overboiled or over cooked veg that sometimes happens with Sunday roasts, the meats all juicy, non stop gravy if you chose. All in all a great meal in a very quirky, friendly and clean establishment. Will definitely go again there is no reason not to. Well done all!

1st time visit since new owner's have taken over, went on Pie Tuesday night and had a good meal. The Pub has been decorated to a very nice standard, and comes across as a very welcoming venue. The staff were brilliant and made you feel welcome, our waitress was excellent and very attentive, came for the drinks order within minutes of being seated. The food was good but for me personally I would like to have seen more vegetables on the plate, I did feel they were a bit meagre as portion sizes go. The pies themselves were very tasty and clearly hand made, I had pork, sage and apple, the wife had chicken and leek. We did think that both of the pies were slightly undercooked on the bases, this did result in a somewhat soggy bottom which was a shame. This to be fair did not detract from the flavour just failed a bit on the presentation. Pie Tuesday is a great menu offering around 4 or 5 pies on top of the normal menu, very well priced and comes with a choice of a soft drink, glass of house red or white, or a pint of lager. We will definitely be returning, and would recommend this pub.

We really enjoyed both the dinners we had at the pub, and appreciated the friendly service. It was great to be able to walk there, and they happily provided a bowl of water for our dogs. Very high quality food, nice building, and we strongly recommend it.

We had an amazing time at the Wheatsheaf, we had originally booked in for a doggie brunch and the humans ended up staying for 2 courses! The service was incredible, such friendly staff and the furry companion nearly ate the bowl she loved her food that much. They had board games to play, very decent pint of Guinness and the food was fantastic. Will definitely be returning - without or without the dog! :) Special thanks to Declan as his service was top notch!

Had a fabulous experience here. The food was excellent and a wide range of gluten free for those with these requirements. The staff were very attentive and nothing was too much trouble. I would highly recommend here for food and service.

It was a quiet day! We went for a last minute dinner, good portions of good food! Drinks were fluffed up a couple times but they were young and can be easily changed. Slightly pricey but will return when we can afford too!

I was in the catering business for years having catered for European Union. There’s no doubt this place is a country pub offering delicious, locally sourced ingredients. What sums it up for me was the Beef Wellington how well it’s done. Not many restaurants and pubs cater this English traditional dish. The portions are huge, the place is relaxing and the staff bend their back for you. I left my red scarf over there and one of the staff members remembered me when I’ve only been there once. It’s no doubt they have built a close community vibe with their customers which you don’t find in chained restaurants. We come all the way from Watford just to have a meal in this place. Absolutely beautiful place indeed

Pub have a nice atmosphere, waiter is efficient and polite. We sat by the window and bright. We really enjoyed the fish and chip with a large bowl of salad that I request to replace the chips as I am diabetes can't take many carbohydrates. Thank you very much. Hope I can come back today for lunch.

Even though they were fully booked, Bella squeezed us in as we were desperately trying to find somewhere to eat. We needed to be out by 7.30pm as we were going to see a concert at 8.00. Bella explained there may be a wait for food as it was so busy. They were amazing and went over and above to make us feel so welcome. Drinks and food all arrived in good time served by the excellent Declan, who was friendly and helpful and made us feel like nothing was too much trouble. The food was excellent and we highly recommend this friendly and welcoming place. We will be back! Thankyou so much to Bella and the team!
