Carluccio’s

My wife and I visited on a quiet Tuesday lunchtime. After 7 mins wait we asked for a menu which the girl clearing tables grudgingly gave us. After waiting a further 10mins for someone to come to take our order we decided to walk out having not been served or even offered a drink. I have never visited before and am unlikely to do so again. Update: Area Manager called to apologise and make good of the situation. Impressed with their response and so I will give them another try.

Service was great and the food was as expected. My wife and I had the grandioso sharing platter to start. It was enjoyable, but there's a lot of meat to get through compared to cheese, olives and breads. I'm not sure the balance is quite right. I then had the seafood linguine which was good. My wife had the sirloin, which she ate but said was a bit tough. Overall, enjoyable but expensive.

Carluccio’s are somewhat of a favourite of mine. Their staff are always friendly, the atmosphere both classy and relaxed. However, what I really go for is the food. The selection of pastas is perfect, with something to suit most tastes, and my mother really enjoys their breakfasts. We have also stopped by for coffee and cake on occasion. This restaurant is my nearest, but at quite a drive, we don’t visit as often as I’d like. Whenever we have, we have had a lovely meal, and felt relaxed and sated, no matter what else we have to do that day.
