The Barge

I was happy there was an option to choose where we sat, as previously we were put in the dog friendly area & didn't like it. The fresh lilies & wood burning on the fire was a beautiful aroma as we entered the premises. We were delighted that turkey was back on the Sunday roast menu. Food was delicious. Our server Jade was very friendly & helpful.

Lynda was an excellent and attentive server. Chef Zack gave some personal recommendations which were all delicious. We highly recommend the duck parfait pate, the sticky sharing plate is a must. The burgers were delicious, chicken curry dish and lamb duo also got high praise. Sadly we had no room for dessert but we will be back! Atmosphere, great food and employees who are passionate about their job is what sets the Barge apart from other restaurants. Thank you for a great family night out.

Allison our waitress was rushed off her feet and did an excellent job. Always there when we needed her, very attentive. My main was dry, I believe it had been sat under the hotplate too long, it was barely edible. No complaints at the time as I was not paying and I didn't want to embarrass our group. Dessert was better and went down well.

Went today with family of eight and couldn't have asked for a better experience. Set in a lovely position ,the interior was sophisticated and modern and the outside area and conservatory was newly landscaped .The lady who served us was a star from start to finish ,so friendly and professional. Food was excellent and all delivered to us at the same time ..can't fault a thing ,just wish we lived nearer x

The servers went above and beyond being very attentive throughout. My partner and I both had a roast, my partner had Belly Pork and I had Sirloin Beef. We shared the meats with were delicious especially the Pork. The only negative were the potatoes as they were dry and hard to cut but the rest of the meal made up for it. I signed up to email notifications and was given a voucher for a free dessert, we shared the crumble and custard which again was delicious.Thank you for the delicious meal.

Decent pub fair. Service was very good, our booking had been accidentally booked for the night before we went, but they were accommodating. Good selection of beers and largers available. Menu was a good size (sometimes pubs have massive menus). Food was decent and piping hot, not quite 5 stars but reasonable value for money. Place was a bit quiet for a Saturday night, which can be a good thing for people wanting a quieter drink and meal. We have been a few times now, and it's been consistently good. A tiny bit expensive but, that is a sign of the times unfortunately.
