The Toucan Cafe

Absolutely amazing food. So rare to find somewhere that I can eat with my family. I am gluten free and vegan and my daughter is allergic to milk and egg. The staff were so helpful and accommodating and the food was so delicious that I could have eaten it all over again. The salads were dressed beautifully and so tasty too. Thank you so much 😃

Visited for lunch Weds 24 May 2023. Despite being short staffed we were served quickly. My friend had a curry and I had the flan. The salad that it came with was very tasty and the portions generous. The whole meal was absolutely delicious. The last time I came was before lockdown and my friend has never been and was very impressed. I’m from out of town and was on a bus trip but will definitely be back with more friends and visit the deli downstairs as well this time. Definitely deserves a 5 star review.

The first time I visited England, my mother in law told me that Toucan will have everything I need. We went there for chai, sandwiches then I did plenty of shopping in the downstairs shop. 7 visits later, here’s my review. We love everything! The menu is great. The tofu burger is amazing! The chai was great. They have a Christmas catering menu which has plenty of vegan items on it (that the whole family loves not just the veggies!). The shop is definitely my favorite, small but has everyyyything you need! The stock all my favorite brands; from vitamins to chocolates, gluten free items, tofu and tempeh, teas, cosmetics, allll of it. I’m sure you’re thinking all shops have that, what I’m referring to is the choice of the brands they stock! We also highly recommend the bread they stock as well as the items in the downstairs fridge. The pasties and desserts are great! It’s definitely out go to whenever we’re in England!

Welcoming cafe/restaurant with a great selection of vegetarian and vegan food well made,cooked & presented. A grand selection of drinks including teas , coffees & some great sounding smoothies . Very friendly staff, clean & tidy room & a well stocked healthy/ethical food shop downstairs too ! If only I lived closer ! 😣 Note : The upstairs cafè closes at 5 pm , the shop at 5:30 pm .
