Walking up down The Avenue, there were a few choices, but in the end we went to The Cod Shop.
It would have been nice to sit outside, but it had started to rain, so we sat inside.
It was a really nice decor inside, there was a blue and white seaside theme throughout the restaurant. I thought it was really nice calming environment.
Took a table and looked over the menu. It was lunchtime, and I wasn't overtly hungry (having just spent two hours sitting on a train) I went with the small cod special. This was a small cod, chips, a side, a dip, and a drink. I had mushy peas and mayonnaise with my cod. It wasn't long before our food arrived.
The cod had a lovely crisp batter, and the fish was well cooked. The chips were a little underdone for me.

We both had the small cod, chips, peas and cup of tea. The portion size was very good, so good that we couldn't eat all of it... so glad we didn't order regular size The food was lovely. The place was clean. Staff polite and helpful. We would definitely recommend this place... 👌 👍 😀

Very light and crisp batter around the cod fillet. Tasted as delicious as it looked. Good value for the money. Slightly sober, but very clean interior.
Soft drinks unreasonably cheap for a restaurant at just 1.50 £.
Recommended.

Food was freshly made and tasted fantastic. They have some good deals, around £10 for small fish and chips, drink and small curry sauce or mushy peas. There is indoor seating, but we sat outside. The tables were very clean and they had a large umbrella covering several tables. Definitely recommend for take-away or dining in.

Excellent fish and chips. We opted for a take away and it was delicious. The chips were perfectly cooked and the batter on the cod was very tasty.
Staff were very efficient. The food was cooked to order and the short wait only added to the anticipation 🙂

We visited The Cod Shop last year on our visit to Minehead and decided we had to visit again this year. The guy who served us was very friendly, efficient and helpful. We ordered for 6, ate outside under a very large umbrella and all thoroughly enjoyed our meals. The shop and seating area was clean and tidy and there was also an indoor restaurant too. Our food arrived quickly and was absolutely delicious - the best
fish and chips we've had. We parked by the sea front (free after 6pm) and took a short wander up to the The Cod Shop. I would highly recommend.

We ate here whilst on holiday at Butlins and enjoyed some of the best fish and chips I've ever had!
It was perfect for our family of 4 and excellent value for money we, all of us ate for £20 total. We were able to sit on one of the picnic benches outside in the late afternoon sunshine which was very pleasant.

A clean and nice restaurant tucked away at the back of the chippy. It wasn't too stuffy or warm despite the frying and cooking being done in the same room.
Food was fresh and in good portions. Chips done perfectly to how we like them with lots of flavour. The children's meal of chicken chunks had good size chunks of chicken breast. Everything was presented well too.
