Great atmosphere, lovely staff, hot and fresh food. Great selection of meat, vegetables, gravy, sauces and the desserts are delicious.
A very nice Toby, we arrived just missing breakfast, but the team directed us to the bar while they changed service. A quick drink and our table was ready.
The food was amazing and even our picky eater found lots to enjoy.
Ordered for delivery unfortunately the food was cold on arrival the driver made a stop before me, when it was reheated in the microwave it was ok plenty of everything including pasta? Never had that with a roast!! Needs more gravy and a bit less veg my local foxes had a feast too. Will order again but please please only deliver to 1 address.
Today’s experience was good, whenever you go out to eat the food obviously is at the centre of the talking point but this aligned with great service and atmosphere can complete the whole experience.
Food - food was great, tasty and most importantly warm! Along with desserts that were perfect finishers!
Service - let’s start with the improvements, the line for the carvery needs improving as it’s slow and old fashioned. However our personal server Chelsea (sorry if spelt wrong) was an angel, made the experience 10x more comfortable especially for first timers! Also made sure my stubborn child cheered up!
Atmosphere - wasn’t sure what to expect but atmosphere was good considering how busy it was (had to wait 20mins after my reservation time)
Overall, what a good experience and I will definitely be returning.
We have been using this restaurant for many years, even before it was a Toby.
The staff are always welcoming, very friendly and so attentive. Four generations of my family have enjoyed this lovely restaurant for many years and will continue to do so for many years to come.
We have never had a problem with food and its is great value for money.
Atmosphere was flat, every one looked deflated. I believe some music would lift the staff spirits. However the food was pleasant. The presentation of Sunday roast under the heat lamps could have been cleaner and better organised. Table service came with a smile and was very polite (Chelsea).
Overall happy wife happy life.
We're Toby fans and customers. We enjoy eating at several locations. This time the only problem was the beef! The lady who carved it was determined to put on our plates even the beef morsels of a diminishing piece which included fibrous pieces, ligaments and fatty parts.
Someone needs to tell her when to bring a fresh piece from the kitchen!!
Otherwise everything was very fine,as always.
The main man on reception couldn't have been any more friendly or helpful. we messed up our booking on a busy sun and he went out of his way to accommodate us really nice man I had turkey and ham was lovely pals had beef reckon it was a bit tough but over all good food best service and a big thank you to the man on reception very much appericated it
First time eating since it changed to Toby's. Friendly and polite staff. A large dinner £15 each. Worth every penny. A choice of four meats. Plenty of veg and potatoes and sauces etc. It's always best to pre book because it does get busy. Will definitely be returning in the future and possibly might try the breakfast. Thank you.

The host is a big friendly lad. He did his thing as usual (greet, informed us about parking and checked if we had reserved).
We sat down, had our high chairs and got our food. This is just queuing up at the buffet. The food I'm this case was a lil dry (meat) the lamb especially, maybe it had been out too long under the lamp.
The vegetables were in plenty supply, and the mac cheese was sufficient, though I personally like a bit more jazz with my mac cheese.
I needed to use the bathroom and made the mistake of following the signs, as I was lead to a disused bathroom with another sign with clues to where to fine the bathroom. I didn't realise the venue was like an escape room as well. Fortunately, I followed the clues and was able to relieve myself (yay).
I really like that the waiters check in on you. I also like that this place is a relatively healthy option. You can eat good and not spend too much.
Just like am Toby place customers will be customers and may not have the best hygiene when getting their food. But other than that can't complain.
If you like English roast give it a go. Perhaps weekdays are best as it's slightly cheaper and less packed than a Sunday.
