The staff were very nice, the food was absolutely amazing and we only had to wait 15 minutes.
I had the Brisket on a white bread roll and a portion of chips for around £15 and it was honestly one of the best meals I have ever eaten.

As I arrived at the Mill Inn, I was warmly greeted by Geri, the Landlady. She showed me to my very clean and comfortable room. After unpacking I found the bar, wich is well stocked with local beers! The two bar men where very professional and engaging. The waitresses were absolutely professional and very helpful! The food was really excellent all home cooked and tasty. The breakfast (full English) was a most excellent way of starting the day. This was my first, but not last to this establishment and I'm really looking forward to my next visit!
Visited again after several months. We went with friends and we both had dogs with us. We hadn't booked in for a meal and were informed there would be a 45 minute wait. We had a couple of drinks outside whilst waiting, which was nice. We were given a great table inside with plenty of room and kinda tucked away which was perfect for the dogs. We ordered mains and desserts, both were really nice. All the staff were friendly and chatty. There was a nice ambience. We will definitely recommend and return.
The Mill Inn is in a beautiful location in a teeny village off the beaten track. There is a lovely beer garden area next to the river, it is so peaceful. The staff are really friendly.
The smoked salmon & cream cheese on sourdough was gorgeous. I thought £12 was a wee bit pricey at first...until I saw and tasted it. Absolutely stunning, masses of salmon, clearly very high quality ingredients, really fresh, flavoursome and worth every single penny.
Can't comment on the rooms as did not stay.

Fabulous place, friendly relaxed attmospere & lovely staff. Food served outside as we required. Food is great quality, very reasonably priced and good portion sizes, you most certainly won't go hungry here! Keep up the good work guys. What a little gem!! 🤩
The food here is fabulous that includes the breakfast and evening meals. The rooms are spotless. Very friendly staff who cannot do enough to help. Have tried accommodation and meals elsewhere around the lakes over the past twenty years and this rates among the very best. Will definitely be back. Thanks to all the staff

And so glad we did! From the phone call to book in till leaving the welcome was warm and friendly! This is the 3rd Yr in a row we've dropped into the mill Inn and each time it's been highly commendable! Really fresh delicious hearty food and great service to boot. What more could you want! Oh a lovely setting you say? That's a yes too!!!! Dog friendly too!
We have eaten in many pubs around the lake District and it can be hard to find good fare at a reasonable price, but the food at the mill in was excellent quality and good value. We enjoyed it so much, we returned the next evening and it was faultless again. kids meals were great value for money and the food was obviously all home made, tasty and generous portions, also. Very impressed and will be returning again!
Didn't stay over so can't comment on rooms, but the bar, food and staff are brilliant. Popped in for a drink at lunchtime and went back for a meal at the end of our walk.

Nice pub out on its own. Friendly staff. Dog friendly. Food gets a mixed review........ starters (haggis fritters & fried brie) was very tasty and plentiful, my main (chicken katsu with rice and prawn crackers) was tasty and plentiful. My wife's steak and ale pie was very salty and a little dry. We did mention this, and they kindly removed it from the bill. A very good gesture considering. I would recommend this place and would return.
