Decided to go here last night, (even though there were mixed reviews) for tea with the kids and the other half. They cater for vegan and gluten free, which is great for us. The atmosphere is a typical country pub/restaurant feel. We spent around £25 each on main, dessert and 2x drinks. The food was delicious 😋 we were all happy with our main meal and dessert. The only issue we had was they forgot about our dessert order. We waited around 20 minutes, as we thought "" they're busy, it'll be out soon". It wasn't until we mentioned our order still hasn't arrived, and it was out on the table within 5 minutes. There is a small play area outside for kids to enjoy and outside space if you want to eat outside under the gazebo. The staff are all friendly and polite, yes they're all quite young like someone else has mentioned before. But we had no issues with the staff, apart from forgetting out dessert order, that was quickly resolved. It's a lovely country pub decor wise, the toilets have lovely decor, in both men and womens in comparison to other places we've been. Would of been better if we were placed at another table, (we'd booked in advance) rather than given the table next to the toilets, kitchen and main entrance. A lot of traffic coming and going, which was a bit disruptive. Would we go again.....most definitely! Just place us is in the main eating area next time, please.

Myself and a friend went for lunch today at the Royal Oak. I have been meaning to try here for ages since it was all refurbished etc. Well it certainly did not disappoint! The pub has been transformed and truly is amazing, its a very tasteful modern/traditional style. The service was excellent, very friendly staff who were there if needed but not over bearing etc. Food was just divine, a lovely menu with so many different options we wanted to try! We had the meatballs to start followed by a prawn linguine pasta dish and a steak and ale pie. Both mains were delicious in every way, portions a good size too. None of this less is more rubbish. I have added a photo of our mains but the photo just doesn't do them justice. We both left feeling very satisfied and 100% will be back, already looking forward to it :)

Looks great following the recent refurbishment. Good menu. Great atmosphere at the recent car show. Nice live music as well.

Love this place, warm, friendly and inviting pub! A worthwhile visit for a drink or if you have time it's a must for food! Pigsty pizza is amazing pizza cooked to order! If you're visiting with children, there is a gated outside play area complete with super accessible outside toilets next to it if the little ones have left it last minute, lol! Also dog friendly. Generally highly recommended 🙃

We sat outside and had food from Pigsty Pizza attached. But the pub was originally recommended by a friend and it was a very good choice. The food was lovely, the portions were very generous and it was reasonably priced. There was also a good selection for vegetarians available.

Beautiful building/surroundings. I was particularly impressed with the outdoor setting but due to being dark I could not really have a look. Had a very Scandinavian/ European feel to it which I love as I am from Sweden 🇸🇪. Love the furniture/ colour combination / the pictures & paintings which was made by the Woreleston business man which provides a sense of community which was absolutely lovely/homely/cosy&welcoming. Service was excellent and girls provided service with smile. The manager made an effort to attend to each individual dinners which again gave sense of a personal touch. Tasty food however there was slight issue with my son's burger meal but they dealt with it. Looking forward to an invite to their upcoming events from the manager.

Really good renovation of the old pub. The drinks were priced well and the food was lovely. We were a table of 13 and half of us had the black pudding starter, it was incredible! Please turn this into a main dish with a nice gratin or something! We all said we would have had it as a main course :D
