Celebrated my wife’s 60th birthday with our 4 daughters, husbands and grandchildren. The waitress was extremely helpful and patient, given there were 14 of us. The service was perfect. The food was delicious. Good selection of beers, wines and spirits.

Excellent pub with great food. We made a last minute booking and despite being very busy they were very attentive and apologized for any delays. They were really accommodating of our 2 dogs when asked to move to a different table. The food was absolutely amazing, the best duck I've had in a long time! We will definitely come back again some time.

As it was lunchtime after having just filled up with petrol next door at the Nesscliffe petrol station, I swung into the pub's ample car park and went in from the garden entrance. Lots of outdoors seating and tables and even an attractive enclosed timber framed porch come patio. Once inside, I was welcomed with a huge smile and hello by Tasha at the bar counter. It's been in the family for a long time and it's a stunning building, inside and outside and dates back to the 1400's. Lots of history and like a tardis inside with lots of eating areas and it keeps on going, wow! Apparently it's not listed but it certainly is steeped in the Nesscliffe history, the Robin Hood of Shropshire frequented this watering hole and lived in the nearby caves! Having looked at the lunch menu, I decided to go with what Tasha recommended. The "Sirloin steak, aioli & balsamic onions open Sourdough sandwich" served with mixed fresh dressed salad and chunky, crispy fluffy chips. My choice of ale in a proper jug handle pint glass was the on tap "Capacitor", by Stonehouse Brewery. This pub restaurant and b&b is stunningly attractive. Full of beams, log fires, it oozes a cosy warmth atmosphere, very elegantly decorated, tasteful colours and wooden, leather furnishings makes the ambiance very comfortable, relaxing and inviting. A big thank you and shout out to all the family, MIKE the dad whom I met briefly at the bar counter, daughter TASHA on the fronthouse and everywhere else, always with a huge, warm smile. And finally but not least, CHEF SEAN who is Tasha's husband...what a publican family!! My lunch was delicious and amazing....along with the warm atmosphere, the log fire going and the cosy ambiance inside, my lunch visit here was a most memorable, enjoyable experience . Highly recommend this pub restaurant as it's definitely worth a visit and many more returns no doubt. I will certainly be coming back...

We had lunch as a large group on a Sunday afternoon. The food was excellent. Dietary requirements were catered for but I felt the vegetarian roast dinner option could have been a little more creative. Good value for money

Only used the restaurant which was quite reasonable. Bit surprised they didn't have any mint sauce for the lamb dishes, particularly as there was a convenience store at the local garage which they could have popped out to. I had the fish which was tasty but the batter was a tiny bit soggy. Otherwise service was very good, environment is pleasing and the rest of the food was good. 4 of us eating so those 2 little hassles didn't spoil it

Stopped here for food as we were passing, we had a great meal. The menu is hard to choose from as there were so many good options. It was really dog friendly too. We had an issue with our lamb but the waiting and kitchen staff were really receptive and sorted it out without any fuss - A* service. Would definitely recommend.

First time visiting and was mostly impressed. Very nice varied menu and the food was great. Only 2 downsides were my garlic bread came with a little bit of random cheese on it which they sorted and we were waiting to pay the bill for nearly half an hour. When we got tired of waiting and asked to pay, they said to go to the bar.

Popped in here by chance as we were exploring Nesscliffe Country Park. We could smell the food cooking and we're drawn down the hill. So glad we did as we had a pint of Guinness and an absolutely delicious meal. The staff were crazy and friendly and it was a lovely atmosphere. Great pub which we highly recommend. If the staff are reading this I am the guy who praised the chef for actually making a nice spicy wrap.. well spicy!

We have visited here a few times now and will definitely be returning again. Service is really good, and all the staff seem very friendly. Food is serviced quickly and is very good quality. The price is very reasonable. There is plenty of parking available and a lovely beer garden with plenty of seating available. The bar area is also dog friendly, which is a great advantage. We booked through the online booking form, which was really nice and easy and we received confirmation very quickly.
