Booking was easy. The staff are helpful and friendly. Our club outing found the lunch menu extensive, good value, large helpings and tasty.
Eight diners had seven different dishes and everyone enjoyed their food.
The decor, ambience and service are appropriate to make the eating experience very enjoyable.
Excellent food and service the place was packed I was in a party of 30 very busy night but the staff were very efficient and courteous endless dishes of food were placed on our table piping hot and delicious then a disco to finish the night off brilliant
The dim sum in this restaurant is authentic Cantonese style, which brings back memories of Cantonese dim sum for customers. It is delicious, rich and moderately priced. At the same time, the service staff is warm and friendly, which makes people feel warm.
A traditional decoration Chinese restaurant with a long history. The food is very authentic. Staffs work hard and friendly. Fair prices, really good portion size. Will be back again, although I am 1:30 hours far away 😂

Came this afternoon for the lunch menu and it was lovely at great prices. Love the decor and the menu was varied. Crispy chilli beef just as expected and a lot of rice. A colleague had chicken curry and looked delicious, if you'll pardon the pun. Definitely going back when in the area.
Great Chinese food. All the dishes I have tried from here have been excellent and the prices are really reasonable too. The staff are always friendly and greet you with a smile. Even with a full restaurant, I’ve never waited more than half an hour for my food. I recommend the salt and pepper chicken pieces for a starter - they are really good! Decor in the building is wonderful too and gives it that real authentic feel.
Yesterday we went to Maxi’s Chinese Restaurant in York. After the normal temperature was checked we were seated down at a very nice corner. All waiters seem to wear masks. Very nice.
We talked about the Maxi’s at Leeds which was no longer there. Miss the Leeds one a lot! Well, teas were served and we ordered. Very fast!
We ordered mainly ‘dim sum’. They all came quickly. Wow, they tasted great! Have a look at the photos. Yum yummy 😋
Very nice Chinese restaurant with excellent customer service. I felt like I was treated as Royalty 😁. Visited for my 50th birthday meal with my family. The table service was friendly and professional, they were very cautious about my son's allergy to chicken and nuts. We had a great time, highly recommended 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Great to visit a Chinese restaurant like Maxis, and find it full already at 1pm on a Sunday. Good job we'd booked a table!! We went to have the Dim Sums, and they were fantastic. Prawn n Pork Sui Mai, Char Sui buns, steamed and fried prawn rolls, plus the starters of prawn toast, ribs, spring rolls, satay chicken and prawn wontons....all superb!!
Best dim sum in Yorkshire (believe me, we have tried them all!).
Only place we have enjoyed such flavourful dim sum and where we felt we could order more whenever we wanted because the staff were attentive and didn't simply deliver the food and disappear!
We will be back - with our extended family in tow!
Fun restaurant with traditional Chinese decor. Large space that is usually very accommodating for bigger groups, and the fact it is out of town means it’s usually got a table, even if you haven’t booked. Nice food - delivered quickly by efficient staff. I like the fact there’s a lazy Susan on the larger tables meaning that sharing food and passing it along is very easy!
