As a traditional F&C shop this was a great find.
The fish were cooked fresh and they looked super.
The batter was lovely not too thick just perfect. We opted for a large fish and chips and, were not disappointed. The fish was huge and a marvellous portion of chips.
The cost of the large portions was not unreasonable and so tasty when we ate them at home. We thoroughly enjoyed our F&C tea.
There are other options for those that do not want fish.
Staff were friendly and the shop bright and welcoming.
Definitely one to use again when we want this traditional tea.

Wow, the best “chippy” for miles and miles around always 1st class. The fish is always amazing and a medium chips serves 3, on my picture I only have less than a quarter than they gave us as my fish was that big! Friendly service, this place will not disappoint.

Probably the best chippy around. Consistent quality every time. Portion size fantastic. Bought in a smaller fish for the budget conscious as fish prices have gone up. The staff are so friendly.

Visited on a friday evening, and there were folks queuing up the street in the rain for fish and chips - sign of a decent chippy. Fish chips and peas were spot on, piping hot, all freshly cooked, and good value. Staff were friendly and efficient. Just like a proper chippy should be!

11 out of ten. my wife and i went here 2 years ago and we couldnt believe how good the fish and chips were. we have been to lots of chippys and this is in the top 3 of all time. no nonsense establishment. keep up the good service guys.

Service was a bit slow when I last visited. But there was a queue out of the door, which shows the popularity of the shop.
The people behind the counter took pre-orders for stuff not cooked to keep ahead of orders, and customers were kept informed of progress.
Always a friendly welcome throughout !
