Had their Festive Feast Afternoon Tea. Huge selection of savouries and sweets things. All really good. Most things you wouldn't know were Gluten Free. Bread was probably the best GF bread I have had, the brown especially. Everything really good quality. The sherry trifle took me back to my childhood. Way too much, so we both came back with doggy bags.
The normal menu looked good...pancakes, paninis, pizzas, cooked breakfasts, fresh cakes...all reasonably priced. Will be back to try some I think. Staff friendly and helpful
The fact that it was so busy shows that lots of non-GF people are happy to use it too. A uniquely wonderful place
Lovely little cafe.
Very yummy cakes and biscuits.
Good coffee.
Proper lunches that are gluten free.
The nice thing is anybody can eat in this cafe they don't have to be gluten free to enjoy the food here, but if you are you don't have to worry about getting something that will be contaminated with Gluten.
And you don't have to be limited to the everlasting gluten-free chocolate brownie!
Gorgeous cakes, pastries and breads. So much to offer that's gluten and dairy free, it was a dream! It was all reasonably priced and comparible with non-gluten free foods, and the cafe/bakery is situated down a small back street in a little old English building. It has a lovely old English cafe vibe but with modern decor.
It also felt friendly and personal when being served, as the cafe can't fit too many people in, which keeps things nice and relaxed. I'd check ahead if wanting to visit with lots of people though, or if anyone in your party is physically disabled, because there's only a small toilet upstairs and it would be difficult to visit using a wheelchair. You'd be better planning to have the food to go on a summer's day and eating in the market square or castle grounds instead.
A very unusual place. Lots of small areas, one room leading through to another. Good variety of food. Very efficient way of serving their customers. Lots of people eating, lovely atmosphere. Would definitely go again when next in Newark. 🤗
A little gem. Tucked away from the high street, but well worth seeking out. Everything on the extensive menu was gluten free. Service was very friendly, all in a delightful experience.
A great little hidden gem in Newark.
Not only is this place great for Gluten fee treats, its also a nice little coffee shop in its own right.
Fed up with the big faceless corporate "Coffee Houses" like Costa and Starbucks?
Then pop in here for a coffee, suport an independant business and get a nicer cup of coffee in with the bargain.
Excellent range of gluten free. Best gluten free sausage cob I've had in ages. Very steep stairs to toilet.
Amazing food, very good variety even had dairy free, fantastic atmosphere, really lovely people we had a great lunch. Will visit again soon
Excellent cafe - nice to be able to go somewhere for coeliacs with full choices rather than the usual salad option only in many cases.
Good gluten free food. Excellent service. Any queries do not hesitate to ask the owner. Very helpful. Very knowledgeable owners.
