I have to say that I felt very special with the fact that the staff made all the effort to put together a meal that I could enjoy, on a date night with my husband.
Having several food intolerances makes dining out a quest, but Newbury's Ask Italian made all the effort and I was able to enjoy without the fear of being at risk.
A 5/5 for the staff attention, attitude and service. The food was excellent and the restaurant atmosphere is very cozy.
You should try the Lemonade, it's seriously good.
A great place to eat. The front of the shop faces the market place and the rear has canal views. When you arrive you are asked if you have any allergies and given a small glass of lemonade. We love the food and last night enjoyed lasagne & pizza.

My favourite bit: That I ordered two starters and that was a good meal for me! And that amazing garlic bread!!! Thin, fresh, soft, delicious, Ei!! Ask for free butter, especially if like me you didn’t order cheese. Oh my days!!! 🥰
My worst bit: They don’t have mocktail prices for cocktails. I ordered a delicious fruity mojito and asked they add no alcohol because their available mocktails were boring for me. I got charged the full cocktail price 🤦🏾♀️🙄🙄 So do remember to go ready to pay for such or ready to negotiate for a cheaper price when you’re ordering. Sorry, negotiating wasn’t my priority in the moment so I’m not sure how that could pan out to be fair and absolutely honest 🤷🏾♀️ Not quite sure about their lasagne though, but everything else looked and tasted delicious 🤩
The highest delight of my visit: Their Meatballs Piccante were amazeballs! So much flavour packed into one dish. I generally don’t expect this much flavour from Italian cuisine that I haven’t personally sprinkled with salt and lots of chilli pepper; so this was a deliciously pleasant surprise. Ask for a bit of black pepper and a little chilli oil to add some uumph
Average Cost: £14 per main and £4 - £8 per regular starter
Service: Decent for a Sunday night, nothing impressive or negative to write about
Ambience: Slightly retro - reminded me of the 80’s/70’s diners from American movies - I feel their tiles gave me that impression... lol 😅

OMG! The food was utterly delicious and the Desserts were heavenly..I highly recommend the #chocolategnicchi filled with oozing Nutella and dipped in a pot of chocolate...soooo yummy! Wonderful night out in Newbury
Service was excellent, but I'm afraid the food isn't as good as Bella Italia, which is immediately next door.

We've visited ask a fair few times and have enjoyed every visit. It's a great layout, great drinks, great food and great staff. The food portions are fair and they aren't too steep in price. Really conveniently placed in town as well and great renovations. Highly recommend
I love this place! It's food is always amazing! They go above and beyond for service! They were especially kind with my children. My family are regularly come here because of how nice it is. Family friendly, fantastic food!
