We ate in The Greek table on a Saturday afternoon and we absolutely loved everything - the vibe, food, and the experience. We came here for the meze, and we got so full from the food servings. We loved how accommodating and helpful the staff members were, even explaining all the food as they were served as well as which sauce complements them - something that we did not experience in Cyprus. Overall great food and experience, will definitely come back!
Fabulous find in Newbury. I received such a wonderful warm welcome from the new managers Matt and Maria. Their staff members Daisy and Jordan (the newly appointed chef) were also super friendly and knowledgeable. The locals were a delight to chat to and they allow dogs too! The garden was a great outdoor space for sun worshippers but also plenty of shade for those that prefer it! With beautiful flower baskets made locally adorning the surrounding private fencing and twinkling lights in the evening. They have a great space for functions at the back of the pub and a separate room for games inc pool! TVs are a plenty for watching the news and some sport. The food was top notch. The burger so tasty I didn’t capture a picture before devouring! I heard the roast was pretty good too!
A wonderful experience in a welcoming, clean, relaxing, friendly pub. I will be back!
Ideal place to get head down for a night good parking for residents pool table food only on to certain times .we did manage to get our bags in early witch was good 👍
Fantastic evening at the Bacon! We had seen then new menu and couldn't wait to try it. Wonderful service, very friendly staff who knew the menu very well! The food was delicious, my personal favourite was the prawn starter. Can't wait to return again with friends.
Staff, landlords, locals are all so welcoming. The beers are clean and crisp, the whole place including rooms upstairs are clean and it smells lovely and homely.
My 5 year old was very comfortable in the pub, Daisy behind the bar was friendly and made us all feel at home.
Thank you all for your hospitality, we'll be having another 4 hour drive to see you all soon.
Didn’t get a chance to try the food but the beer and service were excellent. Locals were chatty and welcoming as were the publicans. Good location and a handy car park at the rear (registration required on the terminal in the pub or pay at the machine). Great value rooms, I will be back!
Just popped in with my sausage dog for a Guinness! Greeted well by the landlord, the Guinness was great, nice tidy bar with some good options. Plenty of snacks which a lot of bars are missing these days. A good real pub. Thanks!
Good place to stop if in need of a room for the night. Large room with clean ensuite. Beautifully soft topped beds for a great sleep. Car park on site for guests. Spacious bar and dining area, and well tended outdoor seating amongst gorgeous flowers.
This pub is an absolute gem! With incredible food, an impressive drink selection, friendly staff, and a prime location, it's a winning combination. From the moment you step in, you're greeted with warmth, we'll definately be back to book a room. A must-visit for a fantastic pub experience.
A great pub near to the centre of town with plenty of parking and space inside. Loads of character and the new managers are making great headway with updating the place. Pleased to hear some decent music and got great service from the staff. Definitely worth a go, especially if you haven’t been in a while (like me).
