Calm, relaxing & a delicious meal. Staff are very nice and welcoming. Ordered via Greene King app, and food/drinks came out quickly and was hot!
Popped in as staying locally for a few days. But highly recommend.

The staff were very pleasant and helpful and the pub was very clean unfortunately that does not include the Ladies toilets none of the toilets had seats fitted and all the cubicles had a lot of graffiti in them a shame because the rest of the pub was well decorated the food was great and plenty of it meaning we will be going back again especially if the Ladies toilets are sorted out.

The Mexican Pasta Salad with Salmon was great. Salmon cooked to perfection, skin nice and crunchy. Also had a bit of the fish and chips from the son, fish was again excellent. Kids loved the brownies, so sadly didn't get to try them!

Went for lunch with my daughter after a hospital visit. The service was excellent, the prices are fair to most places' but the portion sizes are bigger, so it's definitely value for money. We went on Thursday and got the meal deal and got a pudding for free, which I'm sad to say I couldn't eat it all. Highly recommend.

Went on a weekday lunchtime and it was reasonably busy. Unfortunately they had run out of some of the items we wanted but its not the end of the world. Plenty of other things to order. Approximately 30 min wait for the food but not too bad considering how busy it was.

Been a few times now and tried a few things. The first time we visited my sizzling steak was missing onions, mushrooms and peppers. Never said anything as the staff were busy. Food was lovely on all occasions and the staff make you feel very welcome.

Can't really go wrong, decent food and something for everyone and a good price. Was very impressed with the roast beef..went large and was almost defeated! Bit hotter maybe but pretty good. Staff were ok.

Went for brunch with my mother, setting is spacious and exudes a warm vibe. There was plenty of sunlight due to many windows.
Staff were accommodating and friendly, bringing our meal with a smile on their face and shortly asking us if everything is okay, which is something we really appreciate because it really does brighten our day

I used my clubcard vouchers bargain two course meal for two people. The staff were efficient in serving at the bar. The sizzling steaks with sauce and sides of your choice. Food was perfect and the millionaires cheesecake was so nice. Good service and a good menu.

Such a shame that this place is rapidly going downhill. We used to take the family here once a week for a meal out but after last weeks episode we wonât be going again! 6pm on a Sunday evening & tables are still covered in leftover plates & remnants of spilt food. Hardly anything left on the menus (No Burgers, No steak, no chips....the list goes on). We reluctantly stayed just for a light bite with the kids...what a mistake this was!! Food was wrong, was promised for it to be sorted by staff only for one of the kids still sitting there without his food for 20 minutes by which at that time he didnât even want it. Member of staff asked if he would like a pudding to which he accepted BUT when he made his choice was told they didnât have it!! This place was refurbished not so long ago to a nice standard but itâs quickly turning into a grubby mess.
Until I start seeing rave reviews about this place iâll Be staying clear and finding an alternative place to eat in the area.

The place looked lovely, but my favourite tuna baguette has been removed from the menu. But never mind there was plenty to choose from, so i had a mini mixed grill it was not good. Chicken and sausage were very dry, and the gammon was over cooked. My nephews was missing the sausage, so they bought them straight out, which was telling me they were pre cooked the whole meal was luke warm, and considering there was only a handfull off people in there it should have been hot and fresh. I noticed my mums poppadom was burnt. I used to love coming here. But i seem to have lost my faith in the place.

I came here for dinner today with my partner and child. Usually we a rather pleased with the food and dont mind the wait. We ordered our food and drinks pretty quickly. The coke was flat and watered down so had to ask for a new one. We had the bacon popcorn which wasnt as nice as we hoped but were ok, but the cheese sauce was gloopy, lumpy and looked like it had been sitting there for some time, we couldnt even bring ourselves to try it. We had a roast chicken and mash dinner for my daughter, it was brought to us on a scalding hot plate, so we had to wait before we could even let her have the food. The mash was clearly instant mash (you could tell from the consistency and taste). The chicken was mushy and not very nice. Me and my partner had the mixed grill, where we wanted both steaks cooked medium, one was burnt on top and very bloody inside and the other was fine. One over cooked egg and one under cooked egg. The chicken again was mushy and looked like it had been microwaved and the mushrooms were cold and shrivelled. We had to wait for our cutlery to be brought to use after our food had arrived. The staff walking around looked miserable and the only staff there when we left was sitting down eating her dinner so we didnt want to disturb her to complain.

We have just been 10/1/18 it was really quiet we found ourselves a seat read the menu and went to order our food there was a queue at the bar with 2 members of staff taking food and drink orders there was no mention of any wait on the food. We sat down and our starters came out pretty quick we ate them and and the waitress came and took our plates away we waited and waited and waited after about 35 minutes I asked the waitress how long our food would be with that she went to the kitchen and came back to us with it should be another 5 minutes because we only have 1 chef on I wasn't happy by this time so 5 minutes past and another 5 minutes and another it was at least 20 25 minutes before our food arrived with no apology or anything we have been to the cherry loads of time before and never had to wait as long for food and I can honestly say we will not be returning really bad customers service ïżœ

Hats off to the 4 members of staff that were on today. I went to meet a friend for a few drinks and a catch up (1-3pm) The place was busy & there were only 2 behind the bar & 2 people serving food. All 4 of them were polite & smiled whenever they were dealing with or walked past a customer. Not once did any of them drop their guard or looked fed up cause it was boiling hot. I've done that job myself, so I know in 20 plus heat, it's not easy.. When I have been in the past one or two members of staff have been rude or things have seemed like more than their jobs worth but today was team work. You should be proud of them

Went here for a meal last night, had the seafood platter, was delicious, hubby had giant gammon, all in all meal was very nice, son had bacon and cheeseburger, staff were good, will defo be coming again xx

From the other reviews on this site and the unresponsiveness from the restaurant I guess this review will fall on deaf ears too. Anyway, worth a shot!
I have been coming here for years with my family and today, my birthday, my young son selected here again. I was surprisingly impressed with the changes to the place and the change of aesthetics. Gives it a fresh new vibe. Must be really good now!
What didn't impress me though, was the service or should I say, a lack of it. Our meals were ordered and certain things specified, as per the menu, our order arrived but it was completely wrong! My son's meal was sent back to the kitchen to be changed to what he had asked for (as per the menu) to be returned with some of the items still not changed. By which time I had eaten my lunch ( steak n chips) to prevent eating it cold. Having now eaten our 'lunch' in different time slots, we just waited for our plates to be collected and it would be on to our deserts.
Unfortunately after waiting 30 minutes, to which we still hadn't had our dishes cleared away or received our deserts, we decided enough was enough and left, but firstly stopping off at the bar to inform the staff of our displeasure in not receiving anything. I just received a shrug of the shoulders and a fake grin which roughly translated to, "What do you want me to say"?
However, there was a party of 12 having lunch in the same restaurant so I presume they took president over other customers.
To end, If you feel you do not want my custom or you don't feel that I'm as important as other paying customers, then I will certainly be willing to take my business elsewhere. Unfortunately I will not be frequenting your tables any time soon which is a real shame.
Got the decor correct but took a backwards step with customer service.

I was there on Saturday as a family of 10.. I must admit the new updates you have done have really improved the place. The biggest let down was the poor staffing . There was 1 lady on the food area and it was a busy night. People were queuing 15/20 minutes to order food. Please ensure you have more staff on to help with good customer service

I went last night(6th Jan 18). Myself, my partner and my daughter arrived at 530pm. There were dirty tables in the restaurant but it did look like it had been a little busy. After deciding what we wanted which was a chicken dish, burger and a rare steak I went to the bar to be confronted with a long queue and one staff member taking food and drink orders. After a 10 min wait to place the order I finally was able to, at this point no mention was made "about an hours wait on food". I was a bit concerned about the kitchen staff member who came behind the bar twice whilst I was there with a scruffy uniform and no hat on maybe it's a professional thing to me. So we waited for the food watching maybe 3 staff members serving food to the waiting tables. An hour latter the food arrived with no cutlery which they went and fetched, there was no apology for late food or inconvenience again maybe it's a professional thing that I expected it.
We had plans for the evening which meant we had to rush our 'just warm' food so as we weren't late for our other plans and then rush out.
On leaving I heard people been informed of an hour wait but again observed a member of the kitchen staff who looked scruffy in their uniform in the bar area with a can of coke in their hand( it was a different staff member than earlier).
I would have at least thought i would be informed of a delay in food service and an acknowledgement when it was brought to the table. Also I wouldn't have expected to see kitchen staff in scruffy uniforms in the public bar area when customers are experiencing a long wait for their meals. If anything is say a little more professionalism should be instilled in the workplace.

Been myself once after the refurb hoping the place would be better as it's so local for a quick pub tea. They said they had ran out of what I wanted on the menu... fair enough...
My parents have been twice since then and both times the meal they wanted they said they had run out of. It's just a normal chicken dish topped with curry sauce... They were told this 20 minutes after ordering and paying? The waitress that came over to tell them was rude and unprofessional. We fully give up on the cherry tree it went down bank years ago and looks like it will never come back up.
Wouldn't even have a drink there as the glasses are usually caked in lipstick.

If I could select minus I would.. got food poisoning from here and the food took that long to come out we were there for 3 hrs before food came out after numerous complaints they didn't help us at all.. anyway ended up with pure food poisoning of my chicken burger they hadn't heated properly. Thanks avoid at all cost.

Absolutely shocking service! Booked months ago for a table of 15 people. Pre ordered our meals and arrived just before our booked time of 7.30pm. Starters came and 1 was missing waited 15 mins for missing started! Went to the bar for a coke waited 10 mins 1 person service no apology or anything! Mains had to ask where they were 45 mins later they arrived, all tiny portions and very over cooked, burnt parsnips, dry salmon,fatty turkey and items missing from our plates! 9.50pm and still no puddings! No apology or anything for the poor service! Absolutely shocking and will never be returning again

Just left here after a large family meal. It was an 18th birthday and there were 20 of us in total, 8 children included. When we arrived it had the makings of a busy evening. We placed a multiple order using the same table number but all payed separately and we requested that the childrens' meals come first.
The meals starting arriving at the table about 15 minutes after we placed the first order. We were amazed at how quickly everything arrived, nobody was kept waiting. The food was delicious and the staff were very helpful throughout the evening. The manager especially took the time to check up on how the meal had gone. The atmosphere made a special occasion very enjoyable and we would definitely return here for future meals.

Food is lovely, staff are very good well that said what staff there are the lady waiting on on our table right now is severing 25 of us, come on greene king sort the staffing situation out ASAP or we wonât come back
