Brilliantly ran coffee shop but also absolutely exquisite yet simple honest food. Eggs Benedict was lovely.

Called in here after being recommended by a friend. Gorgeous little place ran by an obviously very passionate family. Food is all homemade and very tasty. Defo one to be tried!!

Gav, Jen and the team rock! Gavin is a super talented chef and I try to limit myself to just one of the specials per week. Such good value, you’d be paying £16-18 if you had some of the dishes he cooks in a restaurant in the evening. Coffee is great, super friendly staff, I’m in most days 😊 deserves to be No1 in Newcastle. An appropriate accolade.

5 minute drive from my house and I always get a table without booking. Great menu choice, every breakfast I have had has been amazing. Smoked salmon benedict and vegan chocolate cake my 2 faves. Really good service, nice cafe and great value for money. Would eat there more if it was dog friendly!

I was walking along the Hadrain Wall Path and stumbled across this little gem in Newburn, less than 5 mins from the Path. I was greeted by a warm smile and friendly hello. I only ordered a pot of tea and a Bacon roll, but it was the best roll I have had in a long time. I asked for it on granary. the bacon was cooked to perfection and came with a very quaint pot of brown sauce on the side. Anyone walking the Hadrian Way in need of substances or refreshements, I highly recommend you seek this little coffee house out.

We met two friends here for lunch, not knowing what to expect but were pleasantly surprised. We had soup and sandwiches, teas and coffees, the soup was very nice and the sandwiches excellent one of our party required gluten free and this was not a problem. The staff were really pleasant and helpful, would recommend and will return?

This is a real find in an unexpected location. I’ve visited for breakfast a couple of times and for coffee and cake later in the day and it was all good. The outside seating area beside the tiny burn running into the river Tyne is charming and quirky.

After reading Trip Advisor reviews we decided to try Knights By The Burn, in Newburn, for breakfast on my birthday. It was a great find as it’s only 4 miles from our house. From the minute we arrived we were made to feel very welcome. Even although it wasn’t sunny, after all it was only 9:30 am, we decided to sit outside, by the burn. It was so peaceful and relaxing. I had a small English breakfast with added black pudding. Everything was really good quality and well cooked. The Americano coffee with cream was also excellent. Alan chose poached eggs on sourdough bread which was a really good choice. Total price was an amazing £11.50! We certainly hope to be going back in the not too distant future. Staff couldn’t have been friendlier or more helpful.

Excellent customer service,we were welcomed with a bright breezy good morning on a sunny Monday morning by a lovely lady who took our order. The rooms were light ,bright and sunny with a really complimentary colour scheme that makes it feel spacious we ordered a large and small English breakfast which did not disappoint excellent quality Meaty sausage ,tasty bacon, black pudding ,grilled seasoned tomato ,beans and hand cut sourdough bread toasted with a perfectly fried egg. accompanied by a ginger fentimans soft drink and a pot of tea. other customers dishes looked equally as yummy poached eggs with avocado and Hollandaise . Homemade corned beef pie. We arrived at 11.00am and the customers carried on coming this establishment is really going places. There were also some delicious homemade cakes ,scones, flapjacks, sticky ginger cakes. I am dairy intolerant and i was well looked after by service staff and the chef/proprietor again lovely customer service. Very much worth a visit,. Full breakfast £7.50 small breakfast £5.50 ? Fentimans soft drinks £2.50

Been meaning to go for ages but never can find a parking space nearby as have issues walking far. However we did manage this time and my son took me for a cooked breakfast which was delicious. The 3 little grandchildren had bacon baps which went down a treat and they had juice while my son and I had a 'proper' coffee, Great place with lovely staff and good service. Also had toys etc for the little ones so all in all a great experience and will definitely return!

Friendly welcome on arrival on what was a busy Saturday afternoon. We were lucky to get a table but there was a steady stream of customers coming and going. My friend and I ordered the quiche, a coffee and a tea. Quiche came with salad, coleslaw and new potatoes was very tasty. We followed this up with a lemon cheesecake and chocolate crispy bake. Polished it all off. Great food and service.

Only found this through Tripadvisor . We sat at an outside table with our dogs and settled for one of the specials Thia chicken wraps served with salad and coleslaw, having asked for no onion it was good to find somewhere that listens and give you what you ask for. We were told that there was no onion in the coleslaw, which was excellent.. Wha we had was excellent value and very tasty, have no doubt we will be back

The food is delicious and the staff are lovely. For us, what makes this place really stand out, is the way in which the owners cater for small children. There is a great little family room set apart from the main cafe which has a small play area to keep the little ones entertained. There is a good children's menu or and they have children's cups, plates, and cutlery. Beyond this it is the little things the thoughtful staff do to make sure the children are accommodated. In turn this means we can relax and enjoy the time together which is lovely.

Quality food and good service. I’d recommend the halloumi, hummus and red pepper panini - really tasty

We have come here a number of times for breakfast and lunch and can’t recommend it enough. Today we had breakfast and as ever, it was brilliant. It is clear that so much thought goes into sourcing the best quality ingredients and they are always cooked to perfection. I had the veggie breakfast but the chef was kind enough to sneak a couple of sausages in 😂. The halloumi was amazing. My partner had scrambled egg and smashed avocado and thoroughly enjoyed it. The coffees are also excellent. The atmosphere is very relaxed and welcoming and the restaurant light and airy. The service is always very friendly and efficient and we loved the flower pattern on the flat white... If you are looking for a relaxed but top quality breakfast, lunch or even cake and coffee, there aren’t many places I would go over here. A few comments on parking but we don’t usually struggle and there is also a car park across the road, up a small hill if you can’t get parked on the road. P.S. Always try some of the baked goods too!
