We came here earlier in the year and it was beautiful, fantastic atmosphere and food. The server gave us good suggestions for wine to complement our food and it was an amazing evening, we went back to try the autumn menu and we're not impressed, it was lackluster, the chicken was dry and my husband
One of the BEST restaurants in Newcastle and quite possibly the entire north east. A beautiful location, very good, professional yet not too stiff or flashy service from a very good, well-oiled team. Prices, in comparison to other places and for the quality of food and service here, are very reasona
Fantastic meal for our anniversary, first time we have dined here. Menu choices were quite varied and alot of options for different price points including an optional set menu with 2 courses for only £26. Staff are very attentive and helpful, also quite chipper. If you're looking for some high end f
Lovely late lunch in the courtyard on a sunny day. Staff were friendly, the service was excellent, and the food was first class. We both had the goat's cheese beetroot and walnut starter, which was a great tasty combination. We both had the grilled cod, new potatoes, and spinach served with caper
Excellent menu with many interesting choices. If you want a fine meal without pretentiousness yet with the highest quality, you can find it here. All very tasty. Great wine list that actually has Bogle 'Phantom' red blend--a great find. Our server Ellie was both kind and helpful.
superb lunch in an amazing setting. fab lunch menu, I think it's £21 for two courses, £25 for three. the food is very good, the service is excellent, relaxed and very friendly and the setting is rustic and beautiful, in the heart of the city.
 great value, highly recommended.
We had a very friendly welcome and shown to our table straight away which was inside but they do have a lovely outside eating area now. The table service from several different staff was always helpful and friendly. It was restaurant week in Newcastle so we paid £20 for three courses and the food wa
We booked the banquet hall for our work trip and it's safe to say it did not disappoint. The room was stunning, service was on point and the food was very tasty. It is the nicest place i have ever eaten at! Our group of 40 had not one bad thing to say about the place and want to say a big thanks to
I absolutely adore Blackfriars. I and my husband regularly come here for a great quality relaxed dining experience. Recently I have attended two morning cookery classes which were really fun, quite delicious. Josh and Anthony have been the most kind and welcoming hosts, they have great knowledge an
Went here for my graduation meal. The service could not be faulted. I ordered the sole dish for my main but they had ran out so offered cod instead. It was cooked perfectly and very tasty. My step dad has mentioned the duck he had to anyone he can and again says it was cooked perfectly. We ordered
We were given a 3 course lunch voucher as a gift last Christmas and booked a table for today. We have been before for Sunday lunch but this was the first time we had tasted the lunch menu and we were not disappointed. Food was impeccable and so was the service. Staff were attentive without being ov
Wowsers! Delicious food, fantastic service, superb setting. A very special dining experience in a magnificent building. A definite highlight during our visit to Newcastle.
You have got to stop by if you’re in Newcastle. One of the best restaurants I’ve been to in the city. Definitely try out the set menu which is great value for money. The quality of the food was top notch and the presentation was excellent.
Amazing venue to get married. Would definitely recommend to couples who are looking to get married at a magical place. The bramble & French Martini cocktails went down a treat. The staff were really friendly and helpful and never stopped to make the day amazing.
Exceptional food. Exceptional quality. Exceptional service. If I had to make a small criticism £260 for 3 people was expensive, but I did expect to pay a fair amount for such a good quality meal. You get what you pay for I guess. Can't wait to come back.
Absolutely stunning food and service. Yes it's a little bit more expensive than your average restaurant, but your average restaurant can't put plates of food in front of you like these. Great venue for any special occasion.
We went for one of the medieval food lecture and banquet events and it was amazing. Very insightful, and the food was absolutely incredible as it followed the "rules" of medieval cooking as closely as could be. We then spent some time in the new courtyard out the back and enjoyed some glorious weath
