With a beautiful atmosphere, friendly knowledgable service this place is hard to beat. A fantastic wine and beer list compliments food with interesting flavours. A twist on some traditional English fare. We have been once and can't wait to return.

Beautiful old building and surroundings. The service was great and the price was very reasonable however my meal could have been better. The duck breast starter was lovely but my roast beef dinner was a bit disappointing. The overall meal could have been warmer including the plate although the trimmings were tasty, my beef was overdone, I like my meat pink and this was well done and for me a little dry. It wouldn't stop me from visiting again but I'd probably have the pork if there is a next time.

A lovely restaurant which may be the oldest purpose built dining hall in the UK. The building, decor and atmosphere was amazing. The food was OK, but nothing special. The Black Pudding Sausage was rather tangy and tough (sausage skin). The service was amazing and the waiter couldn't do enough for us. Value for money was OK but I'm sure you could get better elsewhere in the city. I would recommend going for the experience of the building.
