My daughter and I visited today and were pleasantly surprised, from the outside this hidden gem looks a bit run down but when you step through the doors you enter food heaven. The food was delicious, highly recommend the vegan stew and vegan hot chocolate. We came away full to the brim after being tempted by vegan chocolate cake! I can’t wait to go back to my new favourite place
Popped in for a take away coffee booked a table for today for 5 adults. We did have a wait for our food, however, it was worth waiting for. Absolutely loved the hummus sharing platter. And my mam commented it was the best frittata she'd ever had. Everyone else enjoyed theirs too. Yesterday I asked if there was a children's menu and was told no. We did notice yesterday that a child was eating from a lunch box so we came prepared for my daughter who thoroughly enjoyed her hot chocolate. And we enjoyed our espresso and walnut cake and lemon drizzle. Definitely be back (soon I hope!).
We came here twice during our weekend trip to Newcastle, so we’re pretty big fans.
The flavours of the food and ambiance of the bar/restaurant are 5 ⭐️. However, we found the service to be a bit hasty in clearing our plates while we were still picking at dips.
Secondly, the Turkish Breakfast was lovely,” - but it really needed a hummus or dip of some sort on the plate.
Overall a great spot - the homemade sourdough pittas are incredible.
We stopped by for lunch and enjoyed the delicious food, although the portions were a bit small for the price. It's on the pricier side, but the taste made up for it. The atmosphere is fantastic, and I personally enjoyed the ambiance. Service was good too. Overall, a great place for a tasty meal in a lovely setting, despite the portion size and cost.
Best restaurant in newcastle. Period.
Serving Middle Eastern/Mediterranean style tapas which were SO flavourful and fresh made with high quality ingredients, the food was well presented, the atmosphere was super cozy and comfortable, we got all but 2 dishes on the menu as we wanted a range of dishes to try; most dishes were 10/10 however falafels were dry and over cooked, they served a nice range of cocktails - although I didn’t like mine as it tasted too much like liquorice (but we went for my birthday celebration and they took it off the bill as a present🫶🏻❤️). The staff were so so kind and super friendly, we were just chatting away and we they even gave us really good recommendations for dishes - super polite and knowledgeable about their restaurant.
There is no competition as to what the best restaurant in newcastle is, it IS this one! 💖 (and I’m a simple girl so obviously my fave thing was the houmous and freshly made pita😘🤌🏼)
NEED to go back for brunch!
We had an amazing meal at Kiln at the weekend. The staff were incredibly helpful with my partner's dietary requirements. He's dairy and gluten free, and the chef came and had a chat with him to see what would be best to order. His food came out on a separate plate as well to avoid any contamination.
I loved it here and can't wait to visit again.
We booked a large group for lunch (11 people) and they were excellent. We all felt very well taken care of; the staff were super friendly and helpful, and the food was incredible. We even took home some amazing pottery from their kiln!
Such a great place to go, I can’t recommend them enough !!
Fantastic meal here. Love the Middle Eastern inspired small plates! The little table lamps add a touch of romanticism! Great sized portions! You can have a wonder to the pottery area and see all the work in progress. They use these plates for serving food which gives you some inspiration!! It’s also dog friendly which is a big bonus!!!!
Beautiful place for a bite to eat or a drink. Had been wanting to come for a while and was not dissapointes, flawless and welcoming service with amazing food. The best lamb shank I have ever had.
Calm, quiet place, good for morning coffee or food.. You can buy a unique ceramic stuff or enjoy pottery class.
We were introduced to this wonderful restaurant on a foodie walking tour today. We had sharing platters, including a wonderful cheese, home made hummus, red pepper dip, freshly made pittas and a delicious wine to wash it down. Very nice.
Just stunning. Go! Go! Go!
My favourite brunch spot in Newcastle. Reserve online or walk-in as it’s surprisingly quiet. The design is trendy with a factory like vibe. The dinnerware is cool, with the plates and mugs being made in the kiln next door.
The service is great and the food is special. Everything is a treat. The shakshuka was deep and rich and the flat iron steak was tender and meaty. We had the fruit and berries with coconut and vanilla yoghurt on the side👌
Don’t forget to grab some fresh bread and pastries on the way out too!
