Cafe 1901 - Newcastle upon Tyne - Photo album

Staff very welcoming, food was excellent, decor was really unusual and lovely, dogs allowed here. Gluten free options available. Very popular. It is in the student area of Jesmond. Tables are a collection of different things, like and old school desk, or sewing machine stand. A very enjoyable ex
Best vegetarian breakfast I’ve ever had! My boyfriend also found the standard Full English equally impressive. Such fantastic ingredients paired with generous portions. I am a visitor to the area and would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a delicious breakfast in such a cosy place.
Visited following a recommendation while in Newcastle and I can wholeheartedly say that the food is outstanding. Pricing initially looks a little on the expensive side but once you're served your meal and dig in it's worth every penny. The full English Hash was the best breakfast I've ever had. A m
There’s a few of the Caffe 1901’s around but this is the one for brunch. Good if you want a nice quality safe and traditional brunch option. The menu choices are standard. Didn’t have any problems with the full english. I added halloumi which was great. The breakfast brioche was tasty. There can
At first glance from the sign outside I thought it was just a tea and cake room so I did a Google search for a full English in the area and this place came up.... result as we were stood outside. Went in and asked and they said "yep we do breakfast all day" Perfect! So I ordered a double espresso, p
Excellent brunch place! The food was super tasty and we really liked the decor inside. The 1901 salad was huge with a generous round of warmed goats cheese. The 1901 breakfast brioche was yummy, good quality ingredients made for a delicious sarny. Be prepared to queue but worth the wait. The only
It was really cold in Newcastle and we found this bistro in jesmond inside a church. Really nice building and plenty of space inside with high ceilings. I loved how it was decorated. The cakes and sweet shelves were impressing for the size and variety. We could sit down in a wooden table in a corner
They do an extensive range of really nice breakfast and lunch dishes. This includes the standard issue eggs Benedict. Which looks lovely. There's some stuff with avocado. Yuk! It does get busy. Arrive early to not have to queue. The queue does get long. You've been warned. All on one level including
Visited here for the first time last week after a recommendation. Lovely place! Lovely staff! Great decor and vibe. Fantastic menu that also caters very well for vegans, we had the breakfast butties (one meat one vegan) they were superb. Also dog friendly 😊
Far exceeded our expectations. Set in an old church, creditable coffees, friendly staff and excellent breakfast and lunch menus. Well executed plates of food. Many gluten free options (sausages & bread) spicy Shakshuka with good Merguez, Full English had very tasty bacon & bangers. Thoroughly enjoye
What a fabulous cafe! My husband and I visited for breakfast…. After realising they done an all day breakfast, unlike other places that stopped doing them at noon. Really nice vibe inside, plenty of seating area and super fast service! Great sized coffees too. Will most definitely return!
A really great place to start exploring Jesmond if you are hungry. It is worth to get here by Metro from the city centre. Very tasty options for breakfast, brunch or lunch. Very clean and the staff is very friendly they told me that I can get a refund if I don’t like their orange and poppy seas loaf
The food was fantastic, had a brilliant full English. The staff are friendly and welcoming. Price was fair for what you got. Big disappointment was the cleanliness of the table we sat at, if that reflects across the whole establishment they need to get their act together.
Love this place! Make sure to stop in every time I’m in Jesmond! It’s in an old converted church/hall and has a really lovely atmosphere. Ordered the eggs royale which were amazing and would recommend, lots of salmon and perfectly cooked eggs.
Wonderfully quirky little cafe serving fresh homemade food & cakes with great tasting coffee. French toast was fab 😋 definitely be back again 👍🏻
Great food and great coffee. A winning spot for breakfast and lunch. Would be so much better if it wasn’t FREEZING cold inside in the mornings though. Usually have to sit with a coat on.
Food is astonishing, beautiful and tasty, smoothies and milkshake are really good. The decoration is cozy. You don't need to book in advance and they are dog friendly!
Fab cosy cafe in the centre of jesmond. Popular with all ages. Dog friendly. Coffee is delicious and made professionally. Food is amazing, well presented, value for money and can cater for all dietary types. Highly recommend!
