One of the best food venues in Newcastle! Great food, great coffee/tea/soft drinks, friendly staff, music not too loud - and all at a reasonable cost! Get thee hither!
The Settle Down Cafe is a nice welcoming and relaxed atmosphere with good food, coffee and tea. With the Tyne Theatre and Opera house near there's some interesting conversations going on, the surroundings are not perfect but they do very well indeed in what they offer, a place to chill, discuss and grab something to eat or drink.
My second visit and not my last, the sandwiches are delicious and fresh with choice of fillings, the bacon, brie and mango went down a treat with a pot of spiced ginger tea.
Very friendly and relaxed vibe with good tunes 😊 Nice break from the office over lunchtime. Good selection of sandwiches, homemade pizza, salad and soup...also vegan options available. Big portions - had very tasty carrot soup today with two massive slices of lovely fresh bread. They do an excellent flat white too!
Best chai latte in town, food's always spot on and staff are lovely
Wow just eaten here and I'd say it's one of the best breakfasts and the side of warm bread was just the icing on the top.

it was excellent and everyone should try the peach tea because it is absolutely unbelievable! i went with my older sister because she was vegan and this cafe has a lot of vegan choices to choose from.
the workers are really cheerful and really kind and they are very welcoming.
One of my very favourite cafes in Newcastle. Great food. Great atmosphere. Staff are super friendly and the service is really fast. Couldn’t recommend more.

A lovely little cafe with a querky design. Everywhere you look they are little references to films, bands and other pop culture bits and pieces. The hard rock for nerds. Lovely staff and competitive pricing for the centre of Newcastle top quality food and hot and cold beverages available will definitely be going back
