Historic and traditional pub with a good selection of beers and a tiny beer garden overlooking the high level bridge.

This is a pub that was in the tv series " Vera." (Many years ago). We are Vera fans, and when we realised this was " it," we were chuffed. It's a lovely old-fashioned cosy pub. We watched Sherlock playing on tv and had a pleasant evening.
Great pub. Lovely building to sit in for some drinks and a good selection of beers available. Well situated to visit between Newcastle and the Railway Quarter of Gateshead.
A lovely classic pub, with a great selection of real ales. The only issue was the downstairs toilets (very smelly). Also not a sports fan bar with small and few tv's which didn't have Sky Sports. Would happily pop in for ales again, when in Newcastle 🤣
