Fast service and the meal itself didn't take long in arriving too.
We had a lovely lunch of mince and dumplings (dumplings were light and fluffy) and the veggies were cooked to perfection.
The meal was just shy of £30 for the two large meals and a glass of red for me.
It wasn't too busy, so not too noisy and all of the other customers were sat in the conservatory area.
Well.. That was until one man.. So loud, no matter where you sat you could hear him. One of these big booming voices.. You couldn't escape his voice no matter where you sat. He was the only reason we left when we did.
It wouldn't stop us going back again as the food was so lovely and Al who served us even though he was run off his feet.. Serving at the bar and the customers meals, he made time for us too, he made sure we had all we needed and that the food was to our liking.
They do tasting menu... Definitely worth checking out especially if you love a good selection of food, you need to book in advance (£5 deposit) as there are limited spaces and at the time if writing this the menu costs £35

Went for the meal deal they had on Thursdays, 2 courses for 10:95. The quality and quantity of both courses was top rating.Staff were friendly and professional when dealing with queries. Well worth a visit.
Since it has reopened, we have dined here quite a few times. The standard of food is always excellent, with a warm welcome. There is always a good choice for vegetarians. Highly recommended.
Tried out the bottomless brunch yesterday. Can’t fault it in anyway!! Fabulous food and Prosecco on tap. The service was excellent xxx
Really nice food here ! The black pudding and pepper corn 🌽 sauce is to die for ! Cheap and staff are really good ! Really worth a try !
Came in for food with grandkids lovely food only problem deserts they brought the cheese cake with ice cream not aware they put kids on our plate , so they charged us £7.90 for 2 single scoops ice cream , bar maid was rude and was saying there lucky to get anything was it us or other diners , keep your opinions to yourself not in front customers, the guy had excellent service but the young lass needs gone or people won’t visit with her attitude

Update: I heard there's new owners. No carvery on weekdays and it's more expensive.
