Visited with a group of friends and a dog intending to just have a few drinks knowing how busy pubs get so close to Christmas, the bar was a little busy but waited no more than a few minutes to get a full round and treats and a bowl of water were swiftly provided by eagle eyed manager Steve.
After a few and seeing the food others around had ordered we decided to order a selection of the small plates and some sides, we were advised there may be a short wait due to the level of customers in but again we were pleasantly surprised when these were delivered piping hot to the table about 15 minutes later. Not a single complaint from any of us, it was lovely food and worked out very good value for money. The bar staff were all very friendly and attentive. We will definitely be back again soon.

Steve is always really welcoming when we come in, explained the different drinks available to my friend who hadn’t been here before, always super helpful and the bar is a great place for students to get lunch as it’s just up the road from the university. Food is lovely and atmosphere is great whether on a quiet Monday afternoon or a busy match day.
I only went into the car park, to collect my drunken wife. It was dark but it was easy to find a space. The surface is remarkably good and the smell of food coming from the premises was really nice. I don't drink alcohol but if I did I would have a drink here.
Went here for our Christmas meal, 7.99 for three courses. Absolute bargain very tasty and they also had a singer and raffle. We are going to book for next year as well. Great goor great service and cracking staff.
Went in for the 1st time yesterday after a mate recommended it, what a great place. Had a lovely meal with the wife, great service and made to feel very welcome even though dripping wet after a walk

Burgers, chips, onion rings, the whole lot was lush and quickly demolished 😊 Plus the fact it's buy one get one free makes it fantastic value for money 😊
Someone who says ‘are you ok’ when I just lost may dad …. Outstanding customer service. And then to bring napkins when upset is exceptional… Jack then embraced me and made me feel so comfortable. Star employee x

Lovely local pub, a place we can basically call our 2nd home (spend a lot of time here) as we’re welcomed on each and every visit by staff, friends and locals in the pub we now call friends. Food is spot on, burgers and chips for our son and Katsu curry is heaven. Feel so comfortable here, never any bad atmosphere or experiences, happy pub to go to and will continue to visit. Thanks to all the Black Bull team - you’ve been amazing x
