Great food and great location situated within the Fenwicks food court. Starters were amazing and the overall quality of food was fantastic. Steaks were served very rare unfortunately when asked for medium rare, thankfully very well rested so still really enjoyed and suspect it was more of a mix up rather than incorrect cooking. Really helpful and friendly staff, great food and great location will definitely return.

The porterhouse butcher and grill is clearly a once in a while treat. We tend to go every couple of months for an afternoon meal. We’ve ate both from the fish menu and from the steak menu.
The food is excellent, unpretentious and simply cooked and served. The quality of the food is outstanding. I’ve had the most delicious tasting steak and fish from this kitchen.
The hot oysters are a favourite. We’ve had the “fruits of the sea” which is an impressive and lavish range of sea food served either hot or cold. Gorgeous! The sides are excellent too.
The range and quality of the wines is superb and compliments the food perfectly.
The customer service is of a very high standard and the staff strike the right balance between being personable and professional. The staff clearly are knowledgeable about the food and wine here. They certainly justify the expensive price!
My only complaint is the faint existential guilt I feel when eating at such as splendid and posh restaurant. You are surrounded by middle and upper-middle class people which can be suffocating… I somehow clean my plate though and leave very satisfied.
Went for restaurant week, and it was absolutely delicious. We intend on going back to have an even better cut of meat. Everything was delightful.

I have to say, they were the best quality meat I’ve ever tasted.

I was served by a Scottish fellow, sorry I didn’t get his name but he was very friendly and attentive and bagged my food up ready to take home. Lovely guy and it’ll make me come back.

Great express lunch menu with a good selection to choose from. Only issue we had is the server tried to bill us £10 more than the menu price.
The meat is exceptional quality and cooked to perfection. The sister business is the Saltwater seafood and fish restaurant so it’s possible to order from both. Outstanding place and staff. Love it here.
Situated downstairs in Fenwick you will find Porterhouse. They have a vast selection of fresh fish and meats to choose from. We had the prawn and smoked salmon cocktail, followed with a steak to share. The food was excellent and the service was very good too. I have been told they to a very good Sunday lunch.
I have eaten here on a number of occasions and I absolutely love it. The food is always amazing! Porterhouse in my opinion does the best Sunday dinner in Newcastle. The service is great always made to feel very welcome. The staff are friendly and are very helpful.
I have also bought meat from the butcher counter. I buy our Christmas dinner meat from here every year. The staff are always great at giving advice and making suggestions on how to prep at home. It's one of my favourites in the city and I will continue to eat here ❤️.
Solo diner. I've never felt as invisible in any restaurant as I did here.
