Probably my favourite place to go. Lovely to sit there with your friends or family and eat cake and drink coffee. Such a cute place with cute decor and it feels cosy. They also have very nice food to eat too, which always tastes good! You can even order a whole cake from there. But the best thing has to be the staff. They are literally some of the nicest people I know. The lady at the till always welcomes us with a smile on her face and makes us feel welcome. Always smiling and being friendly and they're nice to have a conversation with. They are amazing. Also, the way they prepare the food is excellent and at a high standard. They even have healthy options, such as the different salads you can order. They look and taste good. I would definitely recommend the coconut cake or the pecan pie. They give me life. 11/10 place. You should definitely try it.

We visited the Oven Door after extensive refurbishment. It's been open just one week, and improvements are immediately visible when you walk through the door. New and clean light decor, clean seating with cushions on each chair, a lounge area as you enter, and a brand new menu. My chicken tikka salad was very tasty and filling. My wife's chicken curry with rice very good. Would certainly have both again . We are looking forward to steadily working through the choices on offer! Friendly service and good prices. We wish the new owners the very best of luck in their venture.

Been coming here since i was a kid. Lovely people that own it. I always come here for the veggie breakfast which is really lovely and well priced. The jacket potato is gorgeous too. You get a lot for the price. Easily best I've had in Newcastle.

One of the friendliness cafes in Newcastle welcoming staff and really tasty home made food.I have to give a special mention to Sue who makes the most delicious cakes and puddings. Gale who takes the orders is very friendly and will tweak your order to suit.Well worth a visit

Just have been to try it out. The new oven door under new ownership. Early days but can't complain had the breakfast turkey bacon was delicious as was the sausage too all well presented with a mug of coffee and buttered toast! . Offered some veg Pakora and some gulab jaman ( not together)to try which were out of this world. The new owners own an outside catering 'indian" cuisine business and have a lots of thali and biryani dishes on the menu which sit nicely along side some british staples. It will be interesting to see how this develops . Good luck! I will be returning soon!

I've been coming to the oven door for 18 years, what a little Gem of a place this is, the decor is pretty basic, but good, and its clean!! Open for breakfast ( all day if thats what you fancy) lunch and early tea/dinner. Do you wistfully think back to the days when after school you went to your Nanna's /Aunty 's for your tea/dinner? Are you looking for somewhere that serves good quality fresh food thats all made in house from scratch, including cakes bakes and deserts? Then you really need to get to the oven door, and like.....yesterday!! From lighter bites of fresh made sandwiches, toasties, baked potatoes, etc, to all day breakfasts, roast dinner of the day, home made steak pies, mince and dumplings, and all the old traditional favourites! And it really IS, all made with fresh meat, fruit and veg, the whole lot is spanking fresh, and delicious! Seriously, give this place a try, owners gail and sue will greet you with a big smile and a friendly word, as they do everyone, its great for kids too, even fussy eaters, cos gail and sue are happy to make something off menu, just ask!!

Love place that's been in the same ownership for decades. A selection of food and dinners to take away and homemade scones etc. As homely and friendly as it gets

Fantastic, old school type cafe. The food is cooked the old fashioned way especially the cakes, none of this modern garbage pre made in a box, Will definitely return.
