I've stayed twice now, both times with my young son and we love it. The team are so welcoming to both me and him, they always have a chat with him about the football and he was delighted when they recognised him this time. He left a little disappointed that he didn't get to catch up with Kieron though 🤣🤣🤣! We will definitely stay again, and would definitely recommend to anyone with children looking for a quiet place to stay!

Great location for our walk on Hadrians Wall. Restaurant and pub were great. The rooms are just so-so. Matrices and pillow were sub-par. Room was very dated.

Very nice pub/inn/lodge near the river Tyne, outside Newburn.
They were a bit short on staff and the pub was very busy. But service was OK, and the Salmon lodge, where we stayed is just quiet outside the pubs terrace.

Stayed here for the Sam Fender gig as everywhere in town was ridiculously expensive. Lovely location, very idyllic. There are cows and horses in the fields next to it and lots of greenery. It's right next to the Tyne Riverside Country park where you can walk all the way along the river to Wylam.
The bar is good and they have a selection of their own beers. Breakfast was decent at £10 a head, with a selection of cold bits, unlimited tea/coffee and a cooked breakfast.
Rooms were slightly dated but no complaints - tea and coffee making facilities were provided and the shower was hot with good pressure.
Only downside of staying here was that there's no metro and buses stop around 11am - a taxi into/from town was around £22. Would definitely stay here again.

Highly recommend staying here. A very friendly and relaxed place. Our room was really nice. The surroundings are green, peaceful and lush. The staff were helpful and friendly. Definitely will go back.

What a lovely place to stay! The room was very comfortable and cool after a hot, long day of walking Hadrian’s Wall. The food at the pub was fantastic and breakfast and the packed lunch were generous and delicious. The staff were very helpful and friendly! Thank you for such a lovely stay!
