Being an occasional visitor to catch up with friends I'm always impressed by the friendly atmosphere, reasonably priced great quality beer and good efficient staff a first rate establishment all round.
Friendly local traditional pub with great character serving a wide selection of beers wines and spirits. Sunday lunch is fantastic and very reasonable. Home cooked proper meat and veg. Can't wait to try the new menu.
Great welcome from the lady behind the bar it was a late Sunday afternoon and a good selection of beers and lagers the place had a good crowd in too. The place is clean and tidy and I enjoyed all aspects of the pub.
A quiet pub on the Thursday I was there but that's exactly what I wanted to catch up with mates I'd not seen in years. A decent pulled pint of Guinness and a friendly atmosphere are worth a visit.
Great night with good friends live music makes a big difference.

Had a great Sunday lurch here after reading a recent recommendation by the Evening chronicle. Found the staff very friendly and the pub had a nice atmosphere. The food was very tasty with the beef being cooked perfectly, veg had a nice bite, tasty Yorkshires and roasties served with a nice rich gravy. Will return soon.
Best pub I’ve ever been to, staff are lovely and owners are too. Such a lovely atmosphere and place to be. After visiting the ship wouldn’t want to go anywhere else. Sunday dinners are amazing and would highly recommend. Overall an amazing environment, you won’t be disappointed
Lovely friendly pub, nice atmosphere,not expensive for drinks, nice and relaxing place to go. The bands they have on a Saturday night are brilliant. Can't speak highly enough of the place.
I'm here tonight with my family for a gig with prog rock band Palladium.
We're having a great time, enjoying their music, their own songs from their album "Beyond the Red Curtain" and other cover songs, a good mixture of genres.
This pub has an area for bands and there's enough room for the audience to enjoy themselves.
Came for a retirement party, lovely staff and a great bar
lovely friendly owners, nice bar staff, made a genuine effort to make us feel welcome. nice beer and food, sunday dinner is incredible! looking forward to trying the new menu!!!
