Currently sat in John Lewis Place to eat Newcastle with my 90 year old father who is in a wheelchair.
Absolutely fantastic service from Angela & Debbie,Angela saw I had the wheelchair and carried the food & drinks to our table.
Food & drinks fantastic, dad had lemon meringues and I had the big red.
Then asked if there was anything else we needed, friendly, happy excellent unrivalled service very rare nowadays.
Debbie who done the drinks & cakes equally excellent showed me what there was and was very helpful sorted our cutlery & tray out.
Great service as ever from the place to eat @John Lewis
Thank you
An oasis away from the frenetic retail therapy that consumes the locals. The service and the patrons hark from a bygone age, so don't expect the brand name dressed, ear pod wearing, more makeup than a corpse, denizens of two floors below. This is a mercifully quiet, civilized experience that is worth seeking out when you are at the end of your ability to tolerate the crowds of zombies that shuffle the streets. Thoroughly recommended
Not many veggie or vegan options unfortunately but had a nice sandwich and cake. No decaff coffee available..so had regular coffee but it's always so weak in flavour .
Been here a few times now and they make an excellent cappuccino not so keen on the scones I think they glaze top with egg and it makes them far too hard but that's just down to my personal taste I also had a ham panini/toastie once it was ok wanted ham and onion but it was ham and cheese on menu ask if could have ham and onion but because it wasn't on menu didn't get but I'm sure they would have had some onions in the kitchen because I'm sure i seen it in a salad plenty of space to sit staff polite and organised well worth going even if it's just for a cuppa ☕
We had a nice coffee in a pleasant cafe. The staff were friendly. The cafe was very clean .we will be back again soon
Yeah, great pla e to grab a bite. The scone was delicious with a nice pot of tea! Thanks!
There are usually queues at the food counters but no longer than ten minutes. Plenty of seating and there is a, quiet corner.
Cake was not good… but I liked the view and the atmosphere.
Re my visit on Friday 14th March, just to say a very big THANK YOU to Manager Kelly, and staff, who treated me with such kindness, care and courtesy, when I needed help and assistance re my order. Kelly is a credit to John Lewis and The Place to Eat. Please ensure that she is made aware of this rating. Thank you! Anne
