Called in on Good Friday for our fish and chips. A bit of a queue as you'd expect but didn't take too long to get served. Lovely food and friendly, helpful staff. Highly recommended.

Fantastic place, good food good staff, what more could a person ask for!. Open all the time now (that's if you're not a idiot), that is calling too late. It's good but not able to count on it being open!. Sat 11 November 2023. Just had fish and chips!, the food of the gods. I only get it once a month and its always fantastic, when I'm in Whickham and in Swalwell on a Sat night it's on my mind the whole day. A pint of good beer from 'Ower the road' and fish and chips from Maguires!.👍 Sat 6th April 2024.- Again fantastic food, can't beat it, best in the area!.

The sheer patience this lady had with us (on a Mon eve) when we pointed out not to be too sure about our portion size for the chips! She showed us the different options so we were able to decide. Didn't have to wait long and could see how efficient the team worked together.

Been coming to this place since I was little. Has changed hands it seems, with lots of Indian subcontinent gentlemen in the kitchen now. Still as tasty as ever and the lady at the front is very professional, handling all kinds of customers very well. Chicken parmo was generous and delicious. Curry sauce was lovely too - thick and flavourful

This place can really be hit and miss. When it's good its really nice, but its a bit pot luck (had some pizzas that have been under/overcooked, fish that was wafer thin). But the latest we had was really good, the small fish and chips was huge and really tasty.

Called in for fish and chips decided to eat them on site, the attached cafe next to the takeaway was clean but a bit dated needs bringing out of the eighties, we were served very quickly with regular cod and chips and I must say they were excellent, fish white and flaky, chips cooked to perfection, the staff were very pleasant and the bill was good value, I would definitely eat there again
