Been eating in and out of the Sea Salt for the last two years or so. Quite simply for me it's the best place in Newcastle to eat. The food is always superb, the atmosphere is great, you will not find a better staff in Newcastle and nobody is rushing you to finish!
Whether you're going for breakfast, brunch, lunch or the bistro nights you'll get five star food and service. Stay for their cortado after the meal as they are really something else.
Keep up the amazing work and thank you to everyone at Sea Salt!!:)
Was in Seasalt twice last week: Once for the bistro night and once for breakfast.
The Bistro night: the atmosphere was great, very relaxed and the staff were extremely helpful and friendly.
The food was great! It was refined enough to make the night feel special without being stuffy. We were a table of 10 so too many options to mention all but I had pork belly and my wife had two starters (rather than a main): Salt Chilli Squid and Beetroot, goats cheese and candied walnut risotto. All three dishes were beautifully cooked and were extremely flavourful!
The Bistro nights are best summarised by saying it's high quality food in a relaxed environment with staff that clearly feel passionate about their work.
The Breakfast: We were in as a family and while the atmosphere was different to the relaxed evening setting it was equally fitting for a busy beach front café. Again the service was great. We had a selection of dishes including the American Style breakfast (Pancakes, maple syrup along with elements of a fry), Black Bean breakfast Burrito, a straight up fry and the kids had Pancake stacks with bacon, bananas and maple syrup. All of it was great! The frys were not greasy at all (which is a big plus in my book!)
We would highly recommend the Seasalt at any time!
Such a nice lady works here! I had set menu 3 breakfast £4.50. It took five minutes to get to me. It was well prepared and very good. Regulars are happy around me and music is upbeat at the right level. I’m glad I’m staying near here. It’s a comfort knowing my breakfast is sorted.
A charming little cafe with the most polite staff I've ever met in Newcastle. Came in here for a quick bite to eat while waiting for my partner's appointment across the road and it was such a lovely, welcoming atmosphere. Was even treated to a free hash brown 🍳 If I'm ever around the area again I'll definitely pop in again!
Food was lovely and very fairly priced! Lady behind the counter was very engaging and warm!
Would absolutely go again
Stopped here for a late breakfast after driving from Dumfries and Galloway for the day. We had parked further up the hill and were a little unsure of parking in the area as it was our first time in Newcastle. The ladies in the café were very knowledgeable and helpful, telling us the best places to park.
Ordered scrambled eggs on toast. I was not expecting 3 slices of toast! It was really quick service and very tasty and filling. And a proper mug of tea.
Lovely and good value for money.
Found this great place whist looking for a brekky in Newcastle.
Proper down to earth place and fantastic food at very reasonable prices. That honest home made feel to the place. Like your nana had cooked it.
The fried bread was spot on.
Lovely full English.
Mama was a lovely person, and a great cook.
Thank you so much.
Really enjoyed it.

A gorgeous little cafe, with a warm atmosphere. Excellent service, quick and prompt and the food was delicious. Very reasonably priced. I would definitely recommend. Xx
A lovely little cafe. We had great food for super good prices. Food came quickly and was lovely. Amazing, friendly service!
Great spot to have an authentic E glish breakfast around local people. Very satisfied.
Not to be missed... The Mama of Newcastle likes to make sure that her customers are well fed. The tasty hearty breakfast always keeps me revved up for hours! Excellent, genuine service.
I have to say that this little cafe serves one of the best fried breakfasts I have ever had! If you are in Newcastle and you want a fried breakfast there is nowhere else to go (and make sure you get the fried bread, divine) and the value for money is amazing £7.20 for a lovely breakfast and a mug of tea! I would give it 10 stars if I could!!!!
