Great service, lovely food, relaxed and pleasant atmosphere to spend an afternoon in.
We stopped here while on our way to the Hermitage castle! There are so many sweet sins to choose from, but we decided to go for the apple tart and the rum truffle! Both were delicious! The coffee was strong and gave us the boost that we needed! There is also outside sitting for those rare sunny days! Come early as this is a favourite place among locals and visitors alike!
Popped into the Olive Tree while passing through the village there.
My wife, daughter and I all had sandwiches with various cakes for afters. We also had coffees and highly recommend this cafe.
The staff were very helpful and chatty, the food was lovely and very filling at a fair price.
We called in again on our return trip 5 days later and again we were very happy with our food.
My wife particularly recommended the rum truffle...so much so she went back and got another one.
One small snag is its not dog friendly which we totally understood as some owners let theirs do what they like.
It would have been nice to sit in rather than take away due to us having our dog. Having said that we'd definitely return.
The most amazing little find! The service was impeccable, friendly staff who really looked after us. 2 breakfasts and 2 breakfast rolls were filling and hit the spot! Coffee was good, good selection of cakes and sweet treats! Sat outside with the dog and cannot fault them! Will definitely be back next time we are up north.
Great wee place , we were staying at the local caravan site and popped in here as we arrived early for our check in . We both had the full breakfast and coffee , the breakfasts arrived quickly and were delicious and food hot , coffee lovely and strong. A# we were paying we asked what time they closed in the evening and we were informed that they open for evening takeaways , so we booked our collection time and placed our order . We collected our meals and also bought 2 meringues from the chiller - which were very delicious along with the takeaway . If we are ever In the area again we would certainly go back …..highly recommended 😃
Great cafe, nice food and friendly staff, great location too
Having been a while since our last visit to one of our favourite places it was lovely to visit today for a Latte and scone each. The atmosphere is brilliant the service is exceptional and prices are very acceptable all because of the variety on the menu you can have. Thank you all again for the friendliness extended to us and everyone else while in “The Olive Tree” today.

Great little pit stop. Really friendly place with a great vibe. Best toasted panini for years, delicious coffee and filled our water bottles. Really nice staff. Can’t ask for more; thank you.
Just passing through, lovely staff made to feel very welcome. Food is delicious 😋 recommend the haggis dishes!
Fantastic food, great prices but most of all the staff are incredibly friendly and were brilliant with our young kids. If we didn't live so far away, we would be getting breakfast at the Olive Tree every week
