Delicious lunch for 2, no alcohol £140 - kicked myself for ordering lobster and scallops though which were too small and should have been thrown back 🙄 without the bill would have been <£100 which is far more reasonable for lunch! Monk’s beard & spider crab, whole plaice and almond tart the standout dishes. Super friendly and attentive waiting staff, sit outside and enjoy the sounds, sights and smells of Newlyn fishing port…top tip for afterwards wander down to S. Jelbert’s for vanilla ice cream!

I’m having to post this while dining so I can share the joy. It’s so perfect. Everything has been perfect, including the bread and the Frizzante (!!) The most sumptuous John Dory, views of the fishing harbour with mist rolling in &Sally the seal lolling around in the harbour.

Great experience, lovely restaurant situated on the fishing harbour front Agree with some of other reviews, got excited ordering the half lobster, but it annoyingly came overcooked, lacking flavour and super underwhelming as it was hard prawn like. The yellow beans, dried scallop and chilli was to die for, as were the sardines. On the side front, the side salad was great, new potatoes with green sauce lacking again any flavour, it seemed to be the same sauce as on the lobster. The braised courgette was so mushy and the texture was awful, we left it completely. Disappointing as the sides should really compliment the great mains. To finish the hazelnut tart with greengages was so delicious, but our final mouthful left us with a super burnt bitter taste as the tart had been burnt and covered with a mass of icing sugar, Overall good experience but left slightly disappointed when paying, some extra TLC on some of the dishes would made this experience 100% amazing. Service was a joy. I would definitely recommend this place to others and i hope my comments come across as constructive to Argoe.

This place is the Pollock's Bollo#ks. Heeehee. Wow, WOw, WOW. Staff, AMAZING, great advice on drinks and food, she even told us we ordered too much and she was absolutely right. Fabulous ambience, warm and cozy with lush views. The food was fabulously delicious. Recommend the Fish soup and Ray Cheeks. John Dory cooked to perfection. The passion from the Chef's and staff is palpable. Highly recommend this place, a must. Cannot wait to revisit. I've been recommending it to all my foody friends. Enjoy, and well done Argoe, we need more of this honest delicious food in Cornwall. You've smashed it

Wow or wow. Seriously incredible food - we had octopus, lobster, witch and a salad and it was sooooooo good. Love that there are clear views of the harbour, the decor and finish of the interior and setting was beautiful. Staff were lovely, loved their attire. Only tiny criticism was that we hear the chef schooling a waiter at one point... I imagine a new member of staff. Whilst that might be needed, in terms of constructive staff, it should happen out of ear shot from the customers. Overall still incredible and we will certainly be back!

This is an excellent restaurant. If I could give six stars I would. They really go above and beyond with food and drink quality. It was an absolute pleasure to lunch here. As a party of four with one vegetarian and others having preference for fish, we sampled quite a wide range of dishes. Everything was fantastic. Unusual, inventive, freshly made and absolutely delicious. Fish responsibly sourced, vegetarian dishes given a lot of attention. As a veggie, you won't be disappointed here, quite the opposite. Many thanks to the chefs for such a fantastic experience of modern Cornish cuisine ! Many thanks to our waitress too who made us feel comfortable, patiently answered all our questions and helped us make good choices for us.

Spotted this place as we walked down towards the harbour, the building drew us in right away. Service was super friendly and helpful from start to finish. Menu was a delight to read, and the food was awesome. Could not have had a better experience.

Unreal meal at Argoe last night. They managed to squeeze us in last minute on a table on the terrace. Everything we ate was fantastic, highlights included the hake from the grill, the mussels in cider sauce, sweetcorn with lobster butter and roast potatoes with dried scallop!! Great service and a lovely view over the harbour to boot. Thanks!
