The Queen's Hotel

Central convenient location for town centre and a 2 minute walk from the railway station. No car park BUT within about 50metres of 24hr NCP. Undergoing a big programme of refurbishment, this grand and imposing hotel is in need of the tlc the current owners are applying to it. I'm not going into to picky detail about the bedrooms but for me, adequate and reflected in the rate. The bed was comfortable and ensuite pristine. ( A mirror over the sink an obvious omission) Food - The chef takes great care in his preparation and presentation.... delicious choice to suit most. Typical breakfast. Served our business stay purposes. The staff are more than helpful.

Booked this hotel as its the perfect location for the town centre if you want shops/cafes in the daytime or restaurants /bars in the evening. The hotel staff are extremely friendly and very welcoming and that made me feel instantly at home. The lobby area has been decorated so beautifully so it's lovely to sit and have a drink at the bar, meals are also available from their restaurant menu. The hotel is still undergoing some work so just expect this with decoration etc when walking through to your rooms. Rooms/bathroom is comfortable, and have everything you need, complimentary water provided which many hotels don't offer. Tea / coffee etc provided too. Entertainment was on the evening I was there (Friday) this is an option if you aren't heading out. Lovely hotel, great location, great staff would definitely recommend.
