The Lobster Bar

The lobster bar is very good. It used to be a luxury store we’re just buying lobsters in bins but it’s turned into a really nice restaurant with great water views and where is historical looking still. They still have lobster bins that you can visit and see. Last time I was here I ate there and it was very great lobster and shellfish. Recommend it for anyone going to the downtown Newport area

Lovely restaurant by the water. Unfortunately we couldn't sit outside because it was full of people, but a couple came in and after they were told the same, they kept talking for a minute and someone took them outside right away! Not fair! I didn't hear what they said but next time I should know to complain to get what I want! If it's even safe at all. I mean, if there's no place for anyone outside there should be no exceptions right? Especially during Covid. Anyway... the food was good. My husband's entree was kind of small and nothing out of the ordinary but my lobster was amazing! And our server was top notch! Super nice and helpful. I would give them 5 stars, but the unfairness of the seating situation irked me.

Loved the awesome view and how good they kept up with the cleanness of the tables and seats. We enjoyed our time very much. We had the clam chowder soup which was full of clam chunks, very creamy and tasty. We also had the Lobster bar burger which was very good and the fries were excellent! I'm a fry person and like them well seasoned and crispy. Only bummer for us was the grilled shrimp, there were only 3 of them, could at least had 4 or 5 of them seeing it's an appetizer. But other than that, excellent service, good food and drinks!

First time visit. My husband wanted a burger and I wanted lobster. Both are served here. Outdoor seating near water available. Loved the calamari. The jalapeño pineapple margarita not spicy or alcoholic. Tasted more pineapple than jalapeño or liquor but food and service were good. Mask required. Name and phone number taken at the door.
