Sankaku Izakaya

Awesome sushi place, we especially liked the grilled salmon inside out roll. Popcorn prawns were very tasty as well. The lotus root was a bit dry and disappointing, could have used a dip or something, and the edamame were a bit overcooked. Overall good food and will definitely visit again if we’re around.

Used to be our favourite sushi place but the last three orders were too bad to go back again. Thought it was a once off, waited a few weeks and tried again today. The sushi rice is still watery and soggy and the quality of the dishes has gone down. The online ordering system is not up to standard and communication in person and on the phone is difficult. The online ordering system doesn’t accept a card so you have to pay on arrival, that’s ok, but today and for the last order too, they charged more on the card than what the online order confirmed. Maybe the online system has old prices. Sorry, used to be a fan and hope this feedback is useful.

This has to be some of the best Japanese food I've ever had. I've been here 3 times now just to make sure. The large sashimi plate at $38 is great for 2 people (1 If you're feeling really hungry) is soooo fresh followed with the Wagu Gyoza delicious!!! A couple of Sapporo' s and miso soup and you are full. Awesome.

The worst food experience since living in Newport! Our family will never order/eat there again. We ordered on line at 6pm and it was not until the end of the order, once everything was processed, that we are informed it will be 93 minutes before order is ready to be collected. When i arrived at the prescribed time they said it would be a further 10 minutes. I had to wait 20 minutes before it was ready. i asked the reason for this and none given. Lets say the quality of the food was just as poor (a shame because it was once a quality venue).
