2nd time visiting the gem during mid week firstly let's talk about the pub, it has everything good sports bar a decent sized restaurant and a private function room. The new owners have set the right standards from the off and can only be on route to a prestigious pub/restaurant in the area. The food was excellent portions we're that of a typical pub gurb...large and value for money you will not be disappointed by the standards either, im a bit of a foodie and the burger delivered 10 fold.... attached a few photos good luck guys and look forward to a regular visit 👌

Absolutely lovely little place and it's gets a rare 5 STARS from myself and I'm sure from my family too. The food was excellent, all homecooked and not a microwave in sight, the staff were all super friendly and the service was great. The food took around 10-15 mins to arrive after ordering. My family went for the roast dinner with different meats, (which they all said was delicious and well cooked, I however went against the grain and went for the scampi and chips which, I have to say I don't normally do on a Sunday but I'm glad I did as it was one of the best I've had, the chips were also homemade, NOT frozen, hallelujah, a chef that can be bothered to peel a few spuds. You might say it's only a chip but that's a hard thing to get right. As a chef myself, I know what I'm looking for and It's simple food but that's often the best when done really well, as it was here. The price was more than fair too, considering how much meat we all had. Then there was the desert, we all went (6 of us) with the exception of 1, for the flake cheesecake which again, was to die for, the odd one out went for chocolate cake a custard which she said was one of the best. I have to say though, super well done to the care, love and and attention this chef and his team put into that food, what a guy. If it wasn't for my Great Uncle saying about this place we'd never have known it was there as its off the beaten path, but I'd highly recommend this place although I want to be a little selfish and save it just for myself, lol. It's a long review as it deserves it and it's not often I give 5 STARS! Well done, we'll definitely be back for years to come. Unfortunately, I was too busy eating this lovely food to take photos but I will the next time were there, which'll be very soon I'm sure.
