A trip down the memory lane for me and my dear friend who used to work here 18 years ago. We had a more than decent portion of crisp, tender cod fried with the most delicious batter parried with a large bag of chips and a cup of dense gravy sauce. Top notch quality chippy, I would definitely recommend to everyone visiting Newquay. Salute!
Went in Chip Shop across the road first and then decided on the Chippy when I saw the food.
Had 2 large cod and a medium and large chips with batter bits for myself & wife.
All cooked fresh and tasted fantastic. Had some chips left over for a chip butty the day.
Thank you all for a very pleasent and friendly experience by the hard working staff.
I sent this photo to my Daughter with two 440ml cans next to fish so she could see how big a large fish was.
I was originally going to Cod End over the road, but happily it was closed.
Happily; because the service and food from The Chippy was absolutely perfect.
The couple running it are friendly and cheerful, and they got my order for a pea fritter cooked specially. It was delicious and the quantity and quality of the chips were more than enough.
The only slight downside for me as a vegetarian, is that like most local chippies they cook using beef oil/dripping. Other than that, a great experience.
