First time eating here in spite of staying in the area regularly. Regretting having missed the place before now. Food is perfect; possibly the best cooked vegetables and fish pie I've eaten in a pub. Good ales too. These sound like simple basic things you should be able to get in all pubs, but most don't even come close to getting it right. We'll definitely be back.

We went here for my Grandmother’s birthday with our children (both under 5) last Sunday. My wife and I had visited before and enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere and great food. The staff were absolutely brilliant with the children and the level of service was exceptional. Great venue, great food, exceptionally friendly staff - what more can I say?

An amazing experience for our last Sunday lunch in the UK before flying home! As always fabulous from the second you enter to the second you leave! Warm welcome, amazing staff, both attentive and friendly and the owner who was lovely to us all, the food amazing and plentiful, three of us had lamb shank and my wife the roast beef, it came with lots of extra vegetables and sides and we all left thoroughly full and content, I can't think of a better place with a warmer welcome to have finished our honeymoon, thank you all so much ❤️

The four of us had an amazing meal. Very well priced. Food was hot and very tasty. We were made to feel welcome from the minute we walked in to the minute we left. We would like to say thank you to our waitress Tracey who never allowed our glasses to be empty. And made sure that our night was great. All staff very friendly. Everywhere clean and tidy. Plus Sandfords Orchards Devon red on Draught. Well done to you all. We will be back.

Popped in mid afternoon on a Friday for food, just came across this beautiful pub by accident! Not dissapointed, the staff more than friendly, the pub is very dog friendly and the locals provided a great atmosphere to dine in. Food superb, portions are well value for money. The location and setting of this pub are idyllic... proper Devon!

We had a 60th birthday meal here, at the weekend with a party of 10 of 10 - including 2 small children. We had the room upstairs to ourselves and we went in early to decorate. It was a lovely space, nice and quiet. The food was beautiful -my gluten free pizza was the nicest I have had in a long while. The portion sizes were good, we were all so full up by the end, everyone ate everything! The service was great, friendly, prompt timing and organised, but not rushed. The setting was beautiful, all the gardens around the restaurant were in full bloom and it was buzzing with locals having a drink with friends in the sunshine. Will highly recommend and will be back another time. Can't believe we have lived in South Devon all this time and never been! Thank you :)

We only passed through for half hour break as we were riding our bikes through the beautiful countryside here. However, seemed like a beautiful little pub and the guests there were friendly and welcome. Had a very local village vibe. Which is to be expected I guess. 🤣🤣. We will definitely be coming back again to try their food next time we're riding out this way, which looked amazing from what we see other people enjoying. Yeah lovely little place

Absolutely delicious! Beautiful pub restaurant with great friendly staff and perfect atmosphere. Very accommodating to food allergy sufferers, and have a good selection on the menu. Toilets were nicely decorated and very clean & tidy. The price was slightly above average but so worth it, very filling and delicious. Highly recommended! Will come again.
