The Barn Owl Inn

I really like this place. I went there for a lunch with work colleagues. The place is close to Newton abbot. They have a varied menu' burgers, chicken wings, lasagne, basically British cuisine. Inside is cosy and there is plenty of space to sit. I had a burger. It was quite filling and tasty. I reccomend this place. I will go back for sure here. Love it!! :)

Simply amazing meal here this evening. We were dining later than normal as we were picking up friends from Newton Abbot station and their flight had been delayed. We stopped off at the Barn Owl as it was on the way home (Torquay). Utterly fantastic. Hands down the best meal that we've had out for a very long time. They were busy so we asked to push two tables together at the bar but the staff could not have been nicer. Drinks ordered (very reasonable), food ordered (again, good prices) but we were blown away with the quality of what we got. Your kitchen crew deserve all the praise that they get, heck you all do. We ate, we chatted and a waitress even helped us with selfies. Can't wait to come back.

Really lovely place. Always a good welcome. Staff are so professional and helpful. Nice food , some more vegan option would be good but there are definitely a good few options. Really nice interior and also a lovely garden. We have been a few times and sat inside but last time as weather was good we sat outside. Sunday roast is very nice .

I love coming here, and for so many reasons, the pub is always so welcoming and clean, the staff are super friendly and always go the extra mile. The food is delicious and so fresh. We have a picky eater in the family and they were so helpful making sure she had great options to eat and our dog gets the best service too. We have also booked the snug (private dining room) a few times for a small party and it's felt so private with the same incredible service, and you never feel forgotten in there! Can't wait for the next time! Highly recommend

Friends staying here on a trip from N Wales. So met them here for an evening meal. The place has changed since we last visited 6 years ago, the atmosphere was great, staff professional and the service was top class. Food and drink ordered with a polite smile. Food was hot and good quality, waitress checked if all was well and gave good interaction. Had a great evening and will return more often.

Booked lunch for 4 and were warmly welcomed and seated at an excellent table. Good service on arrival but it slowed considerably as the lunch service got busy. Lots of choice on the menu and the food was excellent. The daily pie, steak and ale, was the best ever!! Absolutely packed with meat which was beautifully cooked. Badger Bitter lovely. One of the best restaurants in the area!

Visited today for Sunday lunch. They offer 3 plate sizes for their carvery roast, including small & an option for extra meat & potatoes. A small portion costs £12 as opposed to the £15 regular plate. There was a choice of turkey, beef or lamb. There isn't a help yourself carvery vegetable bar here; instead everything is plated up in the kitchen & served to you. The fresh vegetables & roast potatoes were nicely cooked but my turkey unfortunately had some gristley bits on the slice edges. The staff were friendly & the tables were clean. There is a small car park with room for about 25 cars.
